I think that we hit it on my third run of the day........around 10:30am. Patrol was up there with us scoping the line just before we went. Superstar Punani was the 2nd one to hit it, I was the third.

I went back and for a second lap. While waiting my turn, a skier aired in, then straight lined...........unfortunately, even with a spotter, a skier came out from behind the rocks below. They missed each other by inches. The skier that hit upper cham went down hard........head over heals, skies flew about 60 feet. Really nasty....think he may have blown out his knee.

Looks like I am out for LBD. With baby #1 due on the 29th, the 24th is just too close to be sun baked, beat up, and all around burnt and 4 plus hours away. If any one needs a pair of 210s, I have ARCs mounted for 204bsl. Pick up in Santa Cruz, or I will be at KW this next Monday evening and Tuesday.

In the meantime, the slack country was well slayed at the 7800' base elevation that makes all the difference.

Monday, patrol was still doing control out toward the spur, and the boundaries were closed. We bitched and complained, but as we got to the top of 4, we found them open. powdork decided to set out the landing gear for a jump into main.

And finds some decent snow to lay down some turns.

With little left to do in the temple, the fall line is attacked.

Round 2, kfactor and powdork survey the goods.

kfactor hucks a cornice on the way to hucking a cliff.

Tuesday started off cloudy, so we headed for were we thought were some trees. Turns out this hidden gem slid the entire way to the pinch.

But a sliver of cold snow remained. Powdork decides it is best to put it out of its misery.

FranklezZ follows on clean up duty and slays any chowder that was still lurking.

The bowl is very filled in, making the entrance just a bit more boring and less pucker full than usual. If you want your first V, now is the time to go get sum.

Awesome -- baby #1 should be ready for them in a couple years. (I think that a 204 BSL probably equates to a kids 10-11 shoe.)

Dunno. Do 737s have a long heel track? You're welcome to give it a try.

I dropped in after Dhklauer and skied it with the smoothness of a spastic gorilla on crack. Hence the lack of fresh snow available for others afterwards. Sorry!
No gnar was harmed in the writing of this post...

I'm trying to track down some friends with spare vouchers. Probably run $40ea, but stay tuned.

I also have a pair of 223 Dynastar Descente skis (see pics of Spats in above-linked thread). He mounted up some 747 for his gunboat sized boots, so they'd need some adjusting/redrilling to fit most humans. I may remount them to fit my boots, but I also have the giant snowboard to ride. Maybe someone with a size 27.5 foot who can ski and snowboard wants to do a back-and-forth trade with me during the day. I'm thinking I'd love to ride both.

I'll also see what I can do about rounding up some extra big sticks in the next couple weeks. No promises on that front, nor on the ticket front. But you can buy an Alpine Spring Pass for $119 (or $99 if you already have an Alpine Club membership). Two days and its paid for itself.

If anyone attended the TGR film, and completed their assigned paperwork, should have an Alpine day pass. Unless you used it up already.

Unfortunately, I assigned my name to mine. OTOH, that means I be visiting you folks up north for a day next week, or the next.

And I guess my bsl is 304... stick might already be assigned, though. And I have a pair of K2 204 and Solly 198 MSLs, for ladies or groms.

I thought Frush skied those in 2009? Did he remount for his BSL? I didn't think Frush's boots were as big as spats but maybe so.

Wait, you mean those weren't midweek only? I never signed up for mine ... I still have the ones from Deeper and Light the Wick. Hmm, got to look into that.

BTW, the Sollys are the 204s, I think the K2 MSLs are 198. Those MSLs are easy enough to be skied by a snowboarder for anyone who is thinking about them. Except you have to wear a dress or a tutu seeing as how you'd be in the ladies class.

That's what I thought (we used ours midweek already). But my buddy Hobbitz reckons someone at AM said they are good anyday BUT Saturday:
"...to cash in on the Alpine comp...Sunday 04/10...anyone planning on this trip?"
("Nah-ah. That goose has flown. The Alpine comps are for Mon-Fri" )
"I thought so too.... but I recently checked with Alpine- they replied back saying: comps are not valid on Saturdays only"
I advised him to get it in writing, or someones name.
