Watched the Dopplemayer guys put up the base terminal structure this evening.
Should have towers up by this weekend if the heli pilot can make it.

went and checked out the new Bridger lift the other day. I cant wait for the snow. terrain improvements aren't going to make a huge difference from before.

I feel like its gonna be a GOOD year though....

whats the pole on a third new lift on Bradley's for 11-12???

So you went up and checked out the old DP road cut? Have they filled it in w/ dirt?
Seems like that was the best part of that whole plan. I've really been looking forward to having all that stuff be smooth.

As for the Bradley's lift... I'm conflicted. It's pretty nice having that stuff be hike-to. But with another intermediate's lift, there might be reduced pressure on the (singular) Bridger lift and slushman's. Not sure which is more important.

theres been talk ever since they put in the slushmans lift.

Bridger is a non profit so all and all every thing is supposed to go back into the ski area.....
but at the same time there policy is - expansion only as needed -

when i first heard they were putting in a new bridger lift this year that got me thinkin about Bradley's again. but who knows. i guess if they feel its necessary to expand it might happen?

I'm conflicted as well, it's lonely over there when every ones at slushy, a t-bar might be cool.... I'm not sure if i'm serious or not.

they were working on the roads when i was up there didn't look like they had had much time on it yet? but then again they didn't have the cable or chairs on the lift either.

hike-to keeps people away thats for sure. I think taking the pressure off the slushmans side would help more than anything.... iv stood in line on a deep day for an hour +. but then again i guess well see how the Bridger lifts fairs without DP.

I'll probably regret it, but no pass for me this year. First time in 26 years-going to be solely riding the ski-doo lift this winter.

You guys have fun and throw up lots of pics!!!

Chatted with the marketing guy when I bought my pass and his perspective was that improving the Alpine zone/replacing the alpine lift would be the next step. Additionally, the bradley's expansion was seen as not as much of a priority when compared to expanding/providing better beginner terrain access.

Not really what most maggots would want to hear but I get it from the perspective of providing more area for new skiers to learn (instead of short VC laps). Plus making 3 bears harder to get to would be kinda nice for the few that know how to hold enough speed on N.B. road to get up goldie.

I'm for keeping Bradley's as is...it is a great little stash where the snow always seems to be good. There really isn't that much lift-served style terrain over there anyway imo and I don't think there is much need or desire for a lift there. 3 Bears via Goldie can be a ton of fun when Alpine is down at the end of the season and the plan to replace the existing Alpine lift with two lifts that make the Bears a little harder to get to would be fine with me.

getting that alpine -> powder park road out of there would be fkn sweet. cant count how many times i've eaten my knees or just plain blowed up because of that thing.

just figured out i'll have something like 270 hours of pto saved up by 12/31. and i can only carry over 160 to next year. and since i'm late to the game, my coworkers have hogged up any possibility of time off around christmas. so i just put in for 12/10 to 12/22 off. hopefully it's a good start to the season. the other 160 will be for 20 of the best powder days after 1/1.

Nice video Matt and Ned, gettin' me stoked for snow, lines, and good times, but I heard not till January this year though. :eek. If your gonna go bat shit crazy by then, you should take my bike for a ride on Trumans or something.

I imagine if they dont maintain the road, it will disappear? But I would be curious to know if it is still there or not.

Oh yeah. Dude, I sent a pack of 12 year olds off of it two years ago. They all kind of flopped over it except the one kid who waaaay overshot and ate his knees. He was my star pupil.

That's why they paid me the big bucks.

Took the camera for a walk this evening...

They've been busy up there. The road cuts are still in the process of being smoothed over, including the top terminal of Deer Park and the Bronco road cuts (they've made it halfway across Avalanche Gulch so far). They've done some work to High-T as well, just as far as the huggin tree (they tore it out!). I believe that whole part of the hill is going to ski waaayyy better than ever before.

Seems like the tranny to Boot Hill has been smoothed a bit, too.
