sweet vid. that ridge your're traversing 3/4 of the way through is butt puckering.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.

^^^ That ridge line is pretty fun because it presents the perfect difficulty level as you traverse for maximum fun!

That was a long time ago, though. Now is the time for fishing...

    Bike park building...

    Forest Fair...

    Jammin'...

Hanging out in the front yard is fun...

because you get such a good view of the back yard!

holy shit! a ski company in smithers? wtf! thats so sick! I knew there were good skiers here but not insane chargers like you. I know about the 5000 but I didn't think all that other shit up there is actually skiable. I will definitely have to get up there next season. I was just looking around tgr and found this, it's a small world I guess. You can actually almost see my cabin in one of those pics, it's the blue one with the powder hounds sign beside Watson's rental place.

The problem is that AK is in my blood... don't know what to do about that?

    I've been focusing on this house move other wise;

    Pick house up off foundation,

    Put on truck,

    Fill in swamp

    and put in some pilings,

    Move house to pilings,

I ease the tension by hanging around on Alyeska all day digging in the dirt

Getting some G's on that low back tire!

Some negative G's on the high bank turn

Tempering the mind and body and reshaping the earth by hand

Chopping dirt and hauling the gravel so they old people and kiddies from Ohio can enjoy the view.

Our gravel mine in the Glacier Bowl. Best to let the machines do the work whenever possible.

You'd be surprised that Anchorage is not all rough around the edges.

    Actually I take that back,

that is exactly what it is! Moms with glacier approach.

Rosie seems apprehensive about glacier travel with Byron in background.

XXX, aiming to finish this place here and then pull some money out to finish the Smithers compound; real foundation, sewage etc.

Jedi, The summer bike season will lead up to using the tram. Start with Chair 3, then 4 as we chase the snow up the mountain. We have 2 routes from the base of 6 as of right now and have just started working from top of 6 on down to Silvertip this week. Gonna roll way out skiers left through the alpine meadows and then come back to top of 4. Eventual route down waterfall side. Once we get main arteries in we can start with side routes. Most every bench from north face to Max's could have a trail...

DH Biking is like skiing in the summer.

We finally linked up the top of the mountain to the bottom via Silvertip Traverse.

The trail has a little bit of everything starting with some desolate moonlike alpine riding,

Aaron, Thom and I pushed up the 2000 feet the other night for the inaugural descent. 10pm,

40 degree scree slopes running for the first 800 feet,

River crossing, there is a plank of wood under there somewhere

Tundra is easy to build trails on, just mark a path and ride it!

Lingering August snow is another story

We have several options out the bottom of the mountain. A few machine trails and a gnarly single track that goes out onto the lower north face...

    More to come!

The best push route is up the Tanaka side then up the bowl to top of the Tram then follow the road under 6 to the glacier bowl. As you approach the tram keep looking up and you will see the traverse over to Silver tip and the goat trail etched in the scree under the patrol shack.

Half way through Silvertip there is only marks on the tundra to follow so go slow because there are looming rocks along the 'trail'. You will hook up at the bottom of Silvertip and then pop out on the road...

Cruise to base of 6 around left side of green building (go under tarp if still there) and drop into Bat Cave down to Von's corner. At Von's you can go up into trees to ride tech Gold Spike or stay on Sourdough and ride berms to top of 3 where Big Spruce picks up with berms to bottom.

Have fun, I might be able to make a lap...?

    Raise house up 9 feet,

Weld cheek pieces onto pile caps with beams,

    Raise prebuilt walls,

    Lower house onto walls,

On another subject, watch out for moose!

    High angle quad action,

We've been getting about 3 hours of sun a week,

Who've guessed the most busy Tesoro in the world?

The run in with peak in background.

Our days usually begin with hauling gravel from Glacier Bowl up and over to Mighty Mite,

Then build a jump or two

This new step up is sweet. About 6' vert here to clear little knoll

Jeramy cleared it by a long way

Then maybe some steep alpine shredding,

Bombing through the jungle above town

    Sunset around 10pm these days

If you can make it there's a DH race at Arctic Valley next Sunday. I was up there yesterday with the organizer building some trail. It's gonna be a lot of fun the trail is good, narrow and probably if you're not a hack like me fast.
