After a couple of decent posts not related to 333 skis I thought summertits might be okay after all, but it's nice to know he really is a dick.
So, conditions are't perfect, so the fuck what, we can, and will have a great mini.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot
BTW, if you see a white with blue stripe Dodge Sportsmobile van parked by the sign at the Mill, that's me. I've gone high brow, but more importantly, there are
Newcastle's in the fridge, so knock if I'm around.
Cheers

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Sorry, guys. Something came up. Hope you're having a blast!
.
listen to cumonteeth, she knows
thursday was teh absolut suck
poseurs everywhere
my first turn was productive though
in general, it was all very unpostcardy
i doubt the restaurant would even pass a health dept inspection
fast forward to friday, mammoth crest - day II of teh suck
the skiing was so abysmal, we decided to just work on or synchronized skinning
oh wait, it wasn't teh suck?
dookey67, wishing he had opted to spend the day inside
ottime taking advantage of the general shittiness of the situation
at 3:15, morale had hit an all time low. but then something strange happened. the clouds began to give way to the sun's radiant light, and as we were about to drop in to the final exit chute, i looked back.
"let's go for a walk", i said. "how far", said dookey. "i don't know. if the snow get's bad, we'll stop", replied powdork. ottime was already putting his skins on.
fortunately, we were able to stay far enough ahead of dookey that we couldn't hear his insults.....
because the light, the beautiful light, was no match for the wind and sub freezing temps.
we built a shelf just under the top out next to the large cornice in one of the pics above
from our shelf. the snow here was actually shitty enough to make it a fun part of the adventure. my goal was to turn right out of the shelf and line up under ottime for the next pic. it was firm and unsmooth.
would have been a better pic if i was 200' feet higher
it was better a bit lower. ottime showing off his new on3p's, and his lacrosse face. this is serious shit!
i could have had a better time if it wasn't so ugly
down low above lake george we found good snow in an alternate exit chute.
and then the waterfall shot (or dookeys redemption) down to twin lakes
fin (for me anyway). i'm rather certain the fun continued.

Umm, it's dumping right now and there are several inches on the ground at fkna (which was as dry as a bone yesterday by the way). I guess summerteeth is right, shoulda stayed home and not skied pow![]()

Sorry the weather hasn't been the best thus far for you maggs, especially those hearty campers at the fort.
I have a feeling Sunday's MM Bacchanal at the Mill will more than make up for it!
Missed seeing you all(even if I wouldn't have skied), hopefully I'll be up for it next time.
Kampai!
Oh, my. Goodness. May powder is always welcome.
good mini Mini, weather seemed to weed a lot of people out , but fun was had, added may powder was a nice touch to finish it off. Excellent skiing with and seeing lots of old and new faces.

Bummed I wasn't there. Glad y'all had fun, though.
not counting days 2016-17
A few photos from the Mini.

A big thank you to Sinecure for the super shuttle service on Saturday and Sunday. He found this:
(Another big thank you to Superstar Punani for another Sunday shuttle.)
Sunday offered 3 inches of dust on crust (along with some dust on corn down low.)

It was great to see and ski with so many maggots!
FKNA indeed. Looks like everyone had fun. Bummed I missed it as well.
nice skiing with you vets and others, and by the way, the bro 196s kill it!
Too bad. Blackcomb sucked as well.
bugged out weather made for a strange mini indeed, but good times prevailed.
solid tours of The Crest and 'Ginny Lakes buffered by a couple of interesting in-bounds days: super variable on Thurs and wonky crustified dibs with hidden swatches of neo corn on Sat. And as always the kinds of apres shenanigans that have made these gatherings memorable.
until the next go-around...
Saturday arrived and Franz Klammer and I stuck to our mission of hitting the Katal landing pad. After buying our tickets we ski into the top of the jump and quickly realize we are by far the oldest people hitting this thing. No matter, we managed to do some flippies and some spinnies, with Franz perfectly executing his first backflip! (video to come). I rung my bell a little bit on a jump, but we managed not to kill ourselves. Later while talking with ski patrol (foreshadowing), we heard they only carted off one person all day.
So coming out of Saturday unscathed we proceeded to ski the 4-6" of fresh (May, what?!) on top of crust there was on chair 3. Second run down West Bowl, I open it up a bit in the runout, slam the hardpack underneath which kicks off my left ski, and crunch my left side on the ground while trying to stop. The result -- dislocated shoulder.
^Shoulder after being put back in place. Carted down the mountain by patrol -- thanks -- and taken to the hospital where they put it back in place very quickly. Instant relief. Thanks to Franz and others for getting me to the hospital and back home.
Still, I had a fun mini and it was a pleasure to hang with the usual suspects once again. And I got a bunch of Vicodin out of it, too! Till next time.
i saw the xray and as soon as i got to Katal i started laughing. turns out i was wrong though.
good thing about being old is those things tend to tighten back up as you get less limber.
sleeping sucks for about a week though.
Backflip videos to come.
It was a pleasure meeting you all -- great pictures also from Dom, SuPu and the gang.
