Boiler plate is to kind a description for anything off piste. The 1-3 inches of snow will be blown way the fuck outta here, if it indeed shows. I know why am I posting in anything but a 333 hater thread! Just a heads up this is gonna be a shitshow weather wise for the next 3 days. That being said-off to the tour of cali.......

Just got word from powdork and ottime that they have set up Fort FKNAv4

off Scenic Loop Road, north side of the road (right turn heading into Mammoth) and it's the "biggest road just before Inyo Craters."

There is a little snow but powdork said "unlimited room for cars and my little subie could get back here so no problem."

I'm going to nix Laurel Springs and go here, since it is now FKNAv4. Also the cell service is very good there.

Oh please... I hope you were kidding. Got out there around 12:30 today and it was pretty darn nice! Not bad at all... granted the upper mountain off-piste was a little "railroady", but the back side (a little hiking involved), under Kiwi and Phillipes, and ALL of Lincoln was creamy butter!

And the BC on Lincoln would be a lot of fun for those of you without a pass! The snow went all the way to chair 15 and there were lots of skin tracks up Lincoln on the sunny side!

The library is closing though... gotta run! The b-bques are NOT out at Mountain Shadows, so bring the backup Twins and we can have dinner Saturday night, if you want!!!

We drove by FKNAv4 and I commented that road looked like a probable spot. Hope to see you guys. I'm going to try to meet up at Ginny in the am also. I drove up at 5:30 today and it looked awesome. Also, they're going to open 120 up to tioga pass tomorrow (the road up, not the road thru Yosemite).

Power is out at Mountain Shadows right now so Turx, Cindy, me and my non-mag friend are drinking at Robertos. May go find 45hill at Grumpys in a bit.

Finally, a voice of reason, and from a girl, too She is more of man then the rest of you weather pussies. We got snow, a great mountain, lots of alcohol (thanks Bhodi), and a bunch of maggots read to have a good time. So, shut the fuck up about the not perfect conditions, and man up and enjoy the mini.


Anybody have a better description for the location of Fort FKNAv4? If I make it all the way to Mammoth tonight i will be rolling in late (I may just sleep somewhere along 395 if I don't get out of work at a reasonable time.) If I make it early, I will head to Roberto's, which means finding the fort will be challenging either way.

only about 100 yds from the rd. snowbank prevented further progress, but i saw someone drive over it this morn when things were frozen.

This is not correct. If you want direction, pm me your number.

No snow travel required, it's a very large turnoff just east of inyo craters road by about 1/2 mile. You will see cars and camping gear about 300 yds. Down the dirt road.
