You're making cookies just for us Gingers? Woohoo!

If The Dad is out, that means I'll probably be camping. Unless Turx wants to pay for my lodging in exchange for transportation???

There is still snow on the road. Your best bet for camping is on the other side of 395 or on the North side of 203 taking the dirt road to Shady Rest.

There is still a ton of berms across most roads blocking access to the forest. I went scouting or wood yesterday and was stopped within a half mile of every road I turned on to. That goes for both sides of 395.

If anyone needs bring a friend coupons pm me your email and I'll send them your way. I have 12.

edit: I thought it was this weekend. Two more weeks of sun will melt a lot and should open a much bigger area.

Which bus/shuttle still runs this time of year? Red?

Edit, nevermind. It is the red line. It runs until 5/25. Lodge to Snowcreek via Main/Old Mammoth/Chateau/Minaret.

I'm looking into renting a condo for the weekend. Will share with Turx & Cindy. Anyone else interested in joining?

I have some "bring a friend" tickets available as well. All six. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to the mini. Super bummed.

PM me if you want some BAF tix.

As of yesterday, the plows on Tioga Pass Rd. have reached Olmsted Point. That's encouraging. Maybe they'll get the road open by the mini if we don't get more snow.

^^^^ open open, or from 395 to the Pass. I doubt the pass itself will open, and honestly, hope it does not. We don't really need too many of us Bay Area folk poking around.

Any word out there on Sonora?

It's possible, since they're at Olmstead already, but by far the worse part of that road (edit: at least west of Tioga, proper) is the slabs at Olmstead (and I think also at the base of Stately Pleasure Dome). If the average depth most of the way was 8-9 feet, it's probably significantly deeper there.

But... we all still 14 days out.

I bet it's open from 395 to the top by then.

Check out the 3.5 minute vid on the NPS site on the clearing work. Linked below the road progress.

So, I was talking to my wife this weekend about the Mammoth Mini and she reminds me my daughter graduates/walks Friday the 21st from SDSU and we have two parties I really should attend that Saturday. I was really looking forward to skiing again too. Maybe I will just roll up for Wed/Thurs for some end of the season laps. Damn, maybe my season is over.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

^^^There is all of June and a few days in July.

I hate graduation parties, they all end up like "The Graduate."

A 2AM run up to Mammoth on Saturday morning sounds way better then a couple of parties.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

    1. I have reclaimed Maggoptimus Prime from McPoser, so he will be in e-f-f-e-c-t this year

    2. I reclaimed Hutash's Maggot Banner from McPoser, as well.

    3. I, slacker resort bound goober that I am, will most likely need to borrow a set-up (skis and skins) from some generous buddy so that I may continue to enjoy the fruits of BC exploration (sadly I wasn't able to demo any of the skis I am considering for my AT set-up in Colo this past week).

    PS
what is the BAF discount price?
are the Spring 4 packs @ $199 a better deal?

Perhaps you will next reclaim P_McPoser himself!

    Not this year, though.

Holy ! This Katal Landing Pad thingy is going to be at Mammoth starting on the 22nd. I can't wait to see some idiots hucking their meat onto this thing. I'm sure some maggots will attempt.

Can't make the mini due to ongoing medical issues, but I will be up to ski Fri and Sat this week. It would be fun to meet up and eat some corn!

Found a couple condos to rent. On the red line shuttle and either in the same complex as asandygal's place or really close by. Right now it is me sharing with Turx & Cindy. One is small and good just for the three of us. Another is larger and would easily accommodate another person or two. With another person, the larger place ends up cheaper. Any takers?
