FKNA! That seals the deal. No way I'm missing this.

And I'm sure Turx and Cinders will be tagging along in my car. Can you run a volcano off an inverter? Hmmm.

I just txt'd Bodhi to chime in here on whether he's coming with Dude and blue cocktails.

Sprite, let me know if you are definitely bringing your 15 year-old. Mine gets done with school the week before so I'm sure he'd love to come and rip some turns on his 333skis for all the haters. Although if he comes there won't be any volcano action. Hmmm.

    I'm most probably in.

For those who asked, Squaw has already announced May 9 as their closing day. No idea if that's set in stone or subject to change.

Bah, looks like they will have stopped the daily non stops to Mammoth from SJC by then. Is CA-120 usually open by then?

Only if you want to roll in to FKNA via the most ghetto-magulous ride in the Yay area. And only if Poser doesn't want dibs from flying into OAK/SFO as opposed to RNO.

Usually is a relative term. Some of us think it's nice to have 120 open as a shortcut to head to Mammoth. Some of us think 120 being closed means there will be more filled in lines and better June/July skiing. It's all relative. 108 may be open, who knows. If anything you can pitstop in SLT the night before en route if both are closed.

Ok, I will try to swing this. That the end of may is coming between two weeks of heli in AK at the end of march and Momentum ski camp in Early July is not going to please my bosses much but I may be able to do some west coast marketing especially if I self finance and work from San Fran for a week. Is it easy to get to Mammoth from SF?

^ ~4.5-5 hours if 120 is open through Yose, ~5 hours if 108 is open through Sonora Pass, ~6 hours going through SLT/Kirkwood but it all depends on time of day and your fatigue

The problem is driving those routes quickly at night is tricky with deer and windy roads and fatigue what not. If 108 is open, spending the night on the bank of the Stanislaus at Baker/Deadman camp is another way to split up the drive and save the wild part of the drive for the morning. Driving through Yose is the most direct route but I seriously am keeping my fingers crossed that it's not open all the way through until Memorial Day Weekend. Another option is if you have a buddy or can carpool with someone from SLT, drive to SLT the night before and then get up early and driving to Mammy in the morning is super easy. You can easily do 2.5 hours from SLT to Mammoth that time of year.

This might well be the way to go. Sinecure took a look at their prices and thinks it's a great deal.
The big-ass drawback to that place, as someone pointed out last year, is that there is absolutely nothing going on at night. And only one, expensive, restuarant to eat in.
We've have got to get our Roberto's fix!
...and it's a bit far from The Official Maggot Lift, and The Beach.

I guess if there is a shuttle running to town, or someone doesn't mind staying sober and driving, or there's a huge posse of us there, it would work out pretty good

    From the website:

Guests will be charged a resort fee of $20 per room, per night.

I'm seeing the rooms come up for pretty cheap right now, but I can't find any mention of the lift tickets being included. Am I missing it? or is that just a deal from May 2009 that we're hoping will be repeated in 2010?

Kid, this is not Deer Valley. Next thing you know you will be looking for the ski valet to help you with your skis.

I am happy to hook any mags up with the buddy pass pricing, as I was told the tickets are $55 a day if I buy them a day in advance on the web. I think she said I can buy 5-6 of them, so let me know here how many days you want and I will pm to confirm your in.

I can usually find condo deals in town that should be less than $50 per person a night on average. Let me know if your interested and based on responses, I will line something up. I also posted up a great deal for any mags wanting to ski Mammoth Apr 16th-20th in the Hookups Forum.

Looking forward to meeting the mags.

I want to ski inbounds on Thursday and Saturday. Tour local on Friday and Tioga (perhaps) on Sunday.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

the ironic thing is my shoulder will probably be healed by then, but I won't be able to go. Oh well, maybe one day I'll get to meet splat and prove I'm not the douche I am on the internet, in person. Or maybe I can convince some people to road trip it with me!

Every year is different and all but so far we have had 412 inches of snow and last year we had 469 inches. Here's what it looked like last year on May 16th

Posting for tracking purposes. My ski schedule has been controlled by Mrs. DJSapp mini-DJSapp. The Mrs. wants to get a day in this season, this could be a possibility.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

May is corn season, unless we get a pow dump, which does occasionally happen. Either way, there will be good in and out of bounds skiing, so just plan on doing which ever you prefer in any combination. There is a group of maggots camping around town (about 8,000 ft) ,chilly evenings, but if you put a rock from the campfire in your sleeping bag you will help entertain the drunken maggots from said campfire.

I want to ski inbounds on Thursday and Saturday. Tour local on Friday and Tioga (perhaps) on Sunday.

Driver - If Schralp can't drive ya, i am thinking of heading out of the Bay on Wednesday at some point. Most likely camping in the back of my truck.

And where is Dookey on this thread? Who is going to ffed me Goji Ginger Snaps all weekend?
