    What did you ask for?

For some crazy reason, some people think tele mounts should be way the fuck back. I always mount to the alpine boot center, pulled from pins to heel.

    So yeah...that's way back.

    root skier

I was going to do it my self, they talked me out of it and I left it to them... they seemed to act like they knew it all... and they knew where they should be mounted... now I will have extra holes in my NEW skis... damn kooks... what would your next move be?

Edit. Mntlion beat me to it.

    That's too far back.

My bet is that they used K2's cord center mark as boot toe. I think K2 uses that "cord center" mark for park rats who want a center mount. Old techs used to use cord center +1 cm for boot toe position. Twin tips screw that up a little because true cord center should be tip to back contact point. Not tip to tail. I haven't messed with Nancies.

If I were you, I would pull the binding on one of the skis. Mark the balance point, mark the cord center (old school style) and mark the fattest part of the ski in one color of sharpie. Mark where their boot toe mount was and compare. I'm guessing you are going to go back to the shop for their explanation of the rearward mount. Looks like they screwed up.

if you bought them at rei it will be no problem.
Perhaps you'd be more comfortable on epicski or Paula's Ski Lovers, AltaNancy.

Although, to be fair, the instructions with your Black Diamond bindings say specifically to mount the ski at Cord Center. Technically, your shop tech followed the only printed instructions he/she had. If you really want your soft-wood-twins to ski like a tele ski, the K2 Sodo comes with Tele mounting instructions. Otherwise, it'll always be a crap shoot unless you tell the shop tech exactly what you want.
