Twas very tight at the top but very very nice down low. Does this have an official name yet? I've heard it called hangover and jaws.

Humbling today over at slushmans for sure, Definetly stirred it up as well, with my entire body. Still fun though, gotta test the knee ligaments. Can't wait till more snow, it's on!

^^^ That is always a fun alternate route. Bummer about your buddy's skis, jaws looked like it got thrashed after I hit it.

I had a fun fun day. Finally skied madmans, might be a new go-to line.

I'll be up tomorrow on my Wrenegades. If any of you guys want to try them out, they have demo bindings now...that is, as long as I'm not riding them that day!

But yeah, he had committed to the line before I could yell back at him that it was pretty much bare rock and ended up jumping from rock onto rock in Jaws (which I am assuming is YOUR FAULT). Needless to say his day was over. He's going to pwaning tomorrow to try to find a replacement.

But other than that, 'twas a great day!

Yeah, that area is total rock until there is like an 80 inch base. Might want to have more realistic expectations or you're just going to wreck your gear and body every time. It's not Alaska over there. That picture was from April in the deepest year ever.

Saw some guy on the high T today, he asked if you needed a shovel to ride slushmans. I should have told him you do need a shovel, because after he asked me that, he proceeded to go blindly down over into the uber gnar like 3 different times. I kept an eye on him and he just kept body surfing down the rocks and trees on the side of exit chute and between the whirlpools like it was normal. I hope the patrol has been practicing their rope rescue skills for that kids sake.

^^^ I was a bit surprised to see the evidence of several people airing the little cliff bands and rock-ridden grass patches all over the slushmans area. Big ass-buster rocks exposed in nearly all the landings. Whatever, it's their coccyx, not mine.

Pretty fun carvy firmpack skiing up there. Be nice if this little storm does anything.

Here's a little delayed BB stoke. The wife and I made it up for a few days over Thanksgiving and had ourselves a real nice time. Can't wait to do it again.

Sam is the bright one. The rest are me.

Will be skiing on bros. Let me know if you want to make some turns.

I really like the last shot in that batch BDR.

Basewelder averaging 6,360 feet of vert an hour. And I didn't even give you credit for the D Route hike. Wow, I must be bored at work. I'm glad that Slushman's is getting skied in. Had some pretty good runs over there Monday, then Z Chute on the way back skied real nice.

I saw some mine sweepers out there yesterday, gonna be a while till I get out that way myself. Some decently chalky skiing inbounds to keep me occupied and get some legs under me.

lil quip in the paper today seems-to me- to soften the high danger message with that last bit about warmer weather

Outdoor enthusiasts are being warned of avalanche danger after two skiers were caught in a slide at Big Sky Resort over the weekend.

Bob Dixon, Big Sky’s ski patrol director, says one of the men was able to ski out of the slide that was triggered on the expert run Lenin on Sunday. The other man was partially buried near the bottom of the run, which is on the south face of Lone Peak.

A search of the area confirmed that no one else was caught in the slide, which was about 1,000 feet long and 40 yards wide.

Doug Chabot, director of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center, says snow conditions are ripe for avalanches on steep slopes, but the danger is decreasing with warmer weather.
early season chairlift/speedlap jones for me esp after livin midwest style anyway- saw 2 groups on saddle tues, I wasn't very tempted...

Interesting report. Sounds like they really bombed the shit out of that slope without any movement prior to the accident.
Skier must have found a thin spot...? Sure looks like things are setting up to move in a big way on Saddle some time this season-- hopefully nobody takes a ride.

Man, I was stoked to be out riding up powder park at around noon with the sun out and all, then no skiing for me. Oh well, really sorry about whoever's truck burned. Didn't realize that's why I was chillin there for 20 minutes, then I saw the smoke. Glad nobody got hurt, hopefully the pagan snow goddess of Bridger Bowl is pleased with the sacrifice.

Give a shout if anybody gets bored spinnin laps alone this next week, maybe tomorrow.
