    I believe it's a barometric altimeter, so it does require adjustments to keep it spot on. It's usually within a couple hundred feet without making any adjustments. When driving in the Uintas this summer I noticed that the display only has 4 digits, so it stops at 9980ft (increments of 20). I found that a bit disappointing.

    That is because foresters aren't meant to be driven in the mountains.
    I bet around SF that altimeter is spot on. Probably more accurate then GPS.

    Thanks g. It's one shot, about 700 seconds. This was taken Monday night (11/16)-- that crazy fireball rolled through on 11/17-- Coulda woulda blah blah... Need alot more time out there...
