    search thread JONG!!!

take a look at some of the threads hare and on Ttips about this - much has been written

Never thought about a heart monitor, but other electronic devices can certainly interfere with beacon performance.

Based on what I have read and tested, almost everything electronic can interfere with a beacon depending on proximity, and wheather signal reception/transmission is involved (cell phones/GPS). best thing to do is get a buddy or 2 with their beacons and do some testing!

Ask scottschell at hotmail dot com

BCA tech rep/AMGA guide/acquaintance will be able to answer that for you. (that email is listed on the BCA so no problem about random emailing)

My guestimate is that it's not an issue, but fuly understand the concern to get an actual answer.

Heart rate monitor? Bit excessive isn't it old chap?

If you have a couple of beacons just do the experiment fuggawdsake. Move the HRM in close proximity to one and check the other. Switch out different beacons on each end. Vary distances/proximities. That's how I checked to see what my GPS, cell phone and radio were doing to my transmit/receive signals. Obviously the digital beacons are the most likely to be affected.

For a wrist based one I would guess this is true, however some HRMs use a strap around the waist and a tiny signal to transmit data to the receiver. I'd be warry about using this type with a HRM and woudl test it out first.
