10 weight......notice I'm carefully keeping the reel out of the water!!

The shrimp hide in the bottom with about a quarter inch sized hole. You take a piece of fish and shove it down the whole with 100lb mono. They grab the piece of fish with their claws and you grab the claws and gradually pull them out of the hole. You have to be real careful since they can about cut your finger off with their mantis like front claws......sharp as razors.
    Sweeter than lobster or crab.

^^ Its spin gear. Not a fly rod. Look at the plug in its mouth and the lack of fly line anywhere in the picture.

It's Badgerman he is off his meds.

    And on ignore.
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

Yeah I'm a dumbass.....corrected picture to fly rod fish......give me a bit and I'll find the pic of the WR sized Trevally I caught on Midway.

ah, I see now. In the old picture it must have just been the angle you were holding it. In 2-D it made the rod look like 5 feet long.

Never claim to be smart..... I just open my mouth to change feet.

Took over two hours to land the big one. Released it as we were 80 miles or so from midway. The owner of the operation was actually pissed we didn't kill the fish......would have been good advertising I guess.....I don't kill things I don't eat. We ate some yellowfin, but the reef fish had ciguatera so we didn't kill any. Sharks got a few though.

Just an extended butt......I think it was either a cheap worldwide goldcup
or a Stu Apte signature rod. I also had a 4 piece Loomis at the time, but it exploded on a tuna a few years ago so I really am not sure which rod is was. Most heavy rods have the fighting butt and sometimes a foregrip on the butt section which isn't all that necessary. The Gold Cups used to have the black butts on them so I think it was that.......they've changed the whole saltwater line so it's hard to tell. The 8'6" 12 I have in the closet looks like it and usually I go one line weight heavier on everything for wind.

Now they have a cork butt:

    And more:

Me touching a Panamanian marlin wiring champeen.......and then there's a couple Jews......
Had to teach that Stu Apte feller a little about fishin' but he was a quick study.
I have my birth control glasses on.......don't want to be leavin' any "mark" on the environment

Ya, way to take care of the reel I think we're all guilty of mistreating gear when you get a good fish. I've lost knives, pliers and almost a full rod/reel combo from my float tube in the excitement of catching a nice one.

Trevalley on a flyrod is on my list of fish to catch via flyrod. Working on Kings on the flyrod now... Others include biggun Mac, pike, tarpon, redfish.

Golly, what possessed me to let this mongrel use MY equipment.......not only that, I had to bill the damn thing........you can see the big smile on his face........that changed to a frown when he got the tip.......whites ALWAYS get the last laugh.

Midway.......nice tendercraft for my yacht anchored offshore.

And there's that Stu Apte guy again........stealing my techniques....plotting with the natives to cheat me out of rod time.

Dude got banned from his actions in the padded room, and there is a strong suspicion that he is not the person in any of those pictures.

    Oh well.
