What is the official closing date?
Progress isn't made by early risers. It's made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.

... and so far, headwall being closed hasn't been that big of a deal.

it wasn't the place to be today. not to mention the fact that the reverse traverse is laid down so nice that it probably takes less than 2 minutes anyways.

with the warm temps, it's time to shift attention to full-time KT anyways. it was turnin' out the hits today.

i'm not sayin it's a good idea on the whole, or that you'd even have a chance to win but the original poster wanted to make noise about their closing early and it could accomplish that.

sure, there's down and slow days, but i think there is enough business for one resort to stay open til memorial day. it wouldn't be the first time a resort has been deceptive about their opening or closing dates, either.

true that.... i'm not ruling out a later closing date.

at this point i'm hoping as many people as possible come up from the bay for the next couple weekends.

it's gonna be awesome skiing... if people show squaw that they're still interested (which they rarely do around here at this time of year) they might consider keeping chairs spinning.

by the way, anybody know anything about the line that was skied in the chimney today? there were a few tracks thru the sweep (pretty standard) but also another line whose origin was difficult to determine. looks like it coulda been an easy street or variation on center line or something.... anyways, someone did some nice work up there.

it's gonna be cool when JimS someday owns squaw, and is spoken of iconically in the lift lines....

I am fully aware that the weekenders and vacationers bring in the vast majority of the revenue, but the pass holders certainly pay some of the bills.

I believe that is an incorrect statement, and a defeatist attitude. I already skin plenty.

    .
I hate it when people say that: "If you don't like it, don't do it." I know Squaw is the premier resort in the area, I have over 100 days there so far, and I wouldn't ski any where else. However, it doesn't mean I should not be able to voice my opinion when I don't like something they are doing. It almost sounds like you feel sorry for Ski Corp.

I guarantee I'm not the only one bitching about this matter. I maybe the only one bitching in this thread.

Guys guys guys, I'm not saying there should be blood shed in the streets, or riots in the village, or that you need to give up your first born. I'm just saying if every pass holder shot an email and/or dropped a note in the comment boxes, which I'm pretty sure Nancy reads, it would be a good show of effort and would be easy to do

This is mind boggling that people in this forum are coming up with arguments for why they shouldn't be able to ski till the end of May. Have you given up this easily? What? do you guys not want more for what you pay for? Be positive.

cheers Terp... i couldn't agree with you more. i only mentioned your name with reference to bitching because it seems that every post gets challenged by someone around here and i wanted to cover my bases.

i don't even think you are bitching... you're telling us to speak up. i agree with you: this isn't like politics... it's actually important!

i'm sick of the people who are bitching about squaw and saying that they don't care and don't listen. they put on a pretty good show up there and do alot to help us out:

they're spending time and money farming snow into the tower 16 hike right now, they re-opened silvy this weekend, they've been opening the chimney with minimal snow to let people schralp it these past two weeks, they extended KT season last year (edit: and again this year), and they have the best goddamn chairlifts i've ever seen!

i did write an email, i will hit the comment box, and i will spend 1-2 hours on my passholder survey again this year.

$4 a gallon gas. Don't count on it... $100 round trip and unfortunately I'll enjoy the nice weather in the Bay.

squaw was absolutely sick this past weekend... the corn was dynamite all day, and the KT closing party was sweet.

to get back to the original point of this thread... i think i'll be writing an email to express my disappointment with the lift schedule for the rest of the year. with the amount of snow on the ground and the amount of people who came up this past weekend, it would be more than reasonable to have at least sibo going this upcoming weekend. hopefully they will.

There's no harm in trying, and dropping a quick email isn't that hard.
So where's the fukkin email address in this thread?

I know I'm gonna get hammered if I already skimmed over it....

If they follow suit to years past they will run funi / sibo this weekend, maybe next. Snow at the base seems good enough to this year.

i'll be very happy if sibo/funi go this weekend. that'll be so sweet.... that's all i asked for in my email.

i was hanging out on the nose with a pack of about 6 kids til probably about 5:00. i remember two guys hanging out above us... must've been you guys!

a perfect corn day was such a fitting way to send out KT at the end of an amazing season...
