Three more ridge kiddies were christened this morning. My friend asked if I could show her son and his friends a bit of the ridge for their first time.

    Hiking the fingers-the warmup.

Third finger-they mentioned how much better the snow is.

    Apron traverse.

    I think they're hooked.

So after showing the kids some of the ridge I decide to go puttzin around on the sled in the afternoon and see some gnarly ass lines being laid down.

Have you tried pointing that thing from the top? If you have, props to ya, cause I don't think that it's survivable with less than a 150" base.

Maybe it wouldn't have been scraped clean if you shuffled your ass out there and pointed it first.

lookers right, that funnel there, is what rips out on nel bosoff in the "montana winter" flick, he goes for a ride in the powder cloud to the tune of what looked like a thousand verts- came away with a non-paralytic(sp) broken back and a life flight (maybe that weighed in his decision to go run a kayak lodge in costa rica- bet someone from here knows him from there...)
just got that flick put on a DVD(thanks again indy), have to figure out hoe to snip the clip and post it here- its chilling...
way to shralp the gnar in the fraze!

& congrats to the new rijhikrs- hope you warned 'em that shit's habit-forming

-no the reason we didnt get it first was due to patrol issues, and getting our pass pulled had we ditched our partner.....and we did shuffle our asses to break trail up there for ya.. regardless we skied it, fun line. good hustle MT and crew.

you get 4ths and 5ths, and you still expect to get linkable turns down it.

cmon, i saw you take 10 minutes to side slip the thing anyways, why didn't you straight line it from the upper choke?

Tis a small world. I was just down in CR last month and stayed at Rafiki, the Boshoff's lodge. Awesome place!!

I was actually talking with his brother Lautjie about the slide since he was there at the time as well. Lautjie has been the head guy down there for a couple years, Nel is evidently living in Panama shooting HD from a helicopter. Didn't know he married Ms. Wyoming, good score.

I was lucky enough to hit the great snow on my trip up there last week. 1 day at Bridger was better than my 3 days at Big Sky/Moonlight.
Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all.

Saturday was a sleepy day on the ridge-first tracks down Z chute at noon. Much better conditions than we expected. Everyone must have been at the pinhead classic.

    Not much activity out here.

Next was Colters and again first tracks at 3:00pm.

Today we went to test out the new (old) sled. My son BBRidgekid likes this one a whole lot better than the little 470. Getting ready for some spring skiing when the lifts stop spinning in 2 weeks.

I'll try and keep the stoke going here. Some pics of tooling around in the Bridgers this past week - 1 day w/ my dog and the other w/ a couple of friends.

    There are mountains up there?

My man, he is a 9 y/o german sheperd mix.

    jasper bootin' the cooler

a nice twisty turny bridger range slot coulior - it sluffed pretty good while I was skiing it so I pulled out at the narrows and let it go by. fortunately the dog likes riding the sluff, he was pumped when he caught up.

came back with a couple of friends since the snow was so good. booting up the access cooler

tone loc tops out of the cooler

    josh nearing the top

    the payoff pitch

A great couple of days of skiing. Found good powder on a firm base and skied everything from big open bowls to tree shots.
