If you want quality, go somewhere else. It was never promised. But it is cheap and close to campus, joes, cooper park, etc. Plus, the chease-steaks are bomb. There are A LOT of places in bozeman that serve sketchy food. Ask about cockroaches at the garage. Even the McDonalds gets triple F's. It is a college town, not aspen... or boston.

Progress is a good thing if you embrace it and make it work. If you shun it, and crap on it, it becomes what you hate. That's why downtown sucks, to many people not taking an active role to make it better and just complaining, "why can't it be like it used to", because it can't. That's what happens when a place gets discovered, it changes. Make it better. Don't try and make it the same, it won't work.
What the hell? What coast do you come from? Do you own barkenhowls or something? I thought you were a tele skier.

    Back to some stoke!

Last Saturday BB Ridgekid and his friend Will went for some 6th Grade action. They liked it.

Looks like a good time! I've been wanting that line for a few years now, and now that it's finally filled in I'm gimpalicious. I may have re-torn everything I got fixed too--all I know is that I'm indefinitely banned from skiing.

So you guys should either all quit skiing for the remainder of the season or take a few turns for me!

It is fun, but there's usually a sugar layer on top of a rock bed on the very top. First half is not steep at all, just looks it.

Got a little DRCS action first run of the day. Pic is a bit early. I like to think of it as a teaser... but you get the idea. Nice and soft today.

    extra weekend

So i was riding up the lift with a patroller this afternoon, having the standard "I can't believe this place is going to close in a week with a 100-inch base" conversation. I was told that Bridger would, in fact, re-open for an extra weekend - April 11-14 (Friday - Monday). Not trying to start a vicious rumor here, but the guy told me as if it was set in stone.

    Anyone else heard this?

Anyway, sick day today. Not only were there no lines, but I saw a lot empty chairs as well. Where was everybody?
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.

    Confirm the extended season.
    STOKE ON!
    Great Snow.

I shall respond to your previous anger.
Move on. I am not from anywhere but where I live.
You make assumptions based on a screen name.
I have a strong affinaty for spiny crustations.

    Yes, tele if you can.

You don't have to fuck a crab to be able to telemark. You just have to ski slow and/or fall a lot.

...in a completely unrelated matter. I would like to say that the note that was posted on Sirshredsalot's locker last week was long overdue. Please wash your gear Joe.

The aftermath of the Dirtbag shit show slowed us down a bit today, though much fun was had. But we did manage to finally make it out to Hollywood. I just took a few shots of my tracks, but MT might have an action shot or two that turned out. We got out there pretty late, but that chute in the center of the pics was still untracked. So I walked up there and put tracks in it-the one in the center with just one track in it. It's so filled in out there, I can't wait to get back when I'm less of a drunken mess.

nice line bdr. Way to score after the rest of the wall looks worked. Check out some pics of some sweet little lines filling in closer to home. This first one is a sweet spine to tree gnar feature in slushmans. So many different ways to schralp that north facing wall there. You can see my tracks coming down on lookers right. Just one of many possibilities. The second pic is of some crazy spines shaping up on top of north facing no name. It would be sweet to get out on those this season. That pic was on friday and today on sunday that shit looked like ak style plastered spines. I don't think I have the balls to get out on that. Maybe I'll try and convince one of my buddies to hit it and take a photo. Would look sick in that same light. The third is looking down the main rib in no name on friday. Nothing like that pre shred moment when you know you are about to score. Alot of that kind of stoke at bridger this year, eh? Any one else got some pics of sweet little nooks and crannies and spines? I love that shit.

here are a few other fun lines. My tracks in the center of pic 1 from earlier in the season. Second pic shows the upper tree spine gnar filling in about the best Ive seen. Hard to imagine that stuff is going to withstand next years carpet bombing. If all that beautiful terrain is desecrated and unskiable because of ski cutting and carpet bombing I'm going to cry. I want to be positive in any way possible about the slusmans lift, but I keep thinking: Main face will become another crust bump shit field like bronco. 2. All the really good terrain will be the victim of severe avy control efforts. 3. People not letting lines fill in proper. Someone please tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Give me some hope. What will balance out these negatives?

Well Slushmans will never be the same but you might actually get a chance to get firstys on Hidden... or at least be able to ski hidden without a bumb line. D-route might not get skied out 2 hours after it's opened and high t might start skiing like it did 5 years ago before the cool thing to do was side slip physco so you can tell your kids you "skied" it.

I guess alot of people will be pissed and I understand that, but after talking with Jim Mayo (patroler) it sounds like Randy is going to make that area open boundry area, (ie you can exit anywhere instead of just out of certain gates) so that means Trumans, Saddle, and South of Saddle can now be reached in an easy day's hike. (that might piss you off more... but it makes me happy thinking about puting multiple laps in on saddle in one day). (NOTE: this is not set in stone, but it is likely, so don't come hunt me down if it does't happen).
