With gas prices the way they are already I'm staying somewhat local and making a few trips over to the St. Marys River for Atlantics. Spring steelhead fishing on Lake Superior tribs is also definitely in store. I had to cancel my every other year trip to Alaska because I'm getting married. Good news is she wants to take a trip to BC next year for some dime bright steelies.

The lost was fantastic, but alas I forgot my goddamn camera. Fish were looking up, but they were suckers for a zebra about 2 inches underwater.

Side note: Got flashed by a 60+ year old back-country Idaho beauty on Friday night in the bar in Mackay. Her boobs hung below her bellybutton. Not so awesome.

Stoked a friend pulled a mid May permit for the Smith. Been wanting to float this river for a while. Hopefully runoff and weather concide for a good trip.
May have a spot in the boat if my Pops can't make it.

So far I've lucked into Selway invite (we plan to have a lay-over every other day). I have a week booked with Italio River Adventures in September (I looked into them after seeing skifishbum's post last year, thanks, any advice on what to take???) I'll get in another 50-60 days around Wyoming, must hit High Savery Reservoir for a shot at a state record Tiger Trout. It's shaping up to be a great year, already been out 10 days and the fishing is really starting to pick-up.

The Smith is one of my favorite floats. You'll have a blast even if you hit runoff.

Cocodrie, LA flyfish for reds and speckle trout end of April
Bahamahs, bonefish begining of May (really a sailing trip but I think the 8# and 12# might make the trip.
Guide the rest of the summer in Grand County, CO
Another bonefish trip in October. Keys or Belize, depends on my buddy who is from Belize and if I can talk him in to going home for a couple weeks.

Anyone flyfished for Reds in Cocodrie? If anyone is coming to WP over the summer and wants to get out, pm me. I fish everyday!!!

I too may have to take a drive down that way this summer.

Have you/do you ever fish the Poudre near Fort Collins? I haven't yet, but I hear good things.

Fished there last year during the runoff. Water was running so fast, I didn't wear waders. I was just past Poudre City. I heard rumors that the river was just coming back to life. Chemical / mining ? not sure.

I ended up catching two fish in about an hour on a fast water prince dropped 2' below a huge Stimulator. Both took the Nymph. I didn't have a lot of time and would have liked to explore a bit more but so is life. Once you get above Poudre City access is pretty good. Below, lots of rafts and kayaks.

Putting together a 3 day float on the Green near the end of May. Will float A the first day, camp 2 nights in B, out the 3rd day. Did the same trip last year and had a blast. Hoping for a nice Cicada hatch.

Nomad - How's the Fraser River around WP? Never fished it before.
