A few years ago I saw tele bootprints in a skin track while I was splitboarding. How's that for irony? Caught up to the guy and it turns out I knew him and I just gave him shit and we laughed about it. (He had forgotten his skins)That night it snowed 8 inches and all was forgotten and then we skied pow.

Haha, kinda funny.....I have a copy of that up on my fridge, and I think I even have the name of the person who wrote it. Not that it really matters. We're all out there sliding snow, having fun....just take it easy, man.

Hey everyone! Great forum here. I know this my first post but I've been lurking for a few weeks and came across this insanity. I live in a very unpopulated part of Colorado with incredible terrain and snowpack. I never new such hostility existed in the bc. Certainly, agro ultra aggressive shit goes down at the resort but in the bc? Hardcore needs to chill and these so called "telenazis" should educate naive knuckledraggers on proper etiquette. Hysterical note and well written. I like the part where he mentions he has plenty of time. Clearly that is his problem.

There's definitely a little tradition of people being dicks in the BC there - I remember being hassled by telelitists for not farming turns in the toots in '90. But the stashes there are fucking awesome for ski area side country- I can see why people who don't get out of town enough would get all territorial, and postholes in the skin track can be frustrating.

fuck yeah!!!! might not be the majority opinion but i wholeheartedly applaud this guy and his tactics. i've never lived in steamboat but my mom has for the last 20 years and i've always thought the bc locals there were a snobbish standoffish bunch and that shit irks me to no end. attitude has no place in the bc so share the wealth and spread the joy that shit brings. i credit backcountry skiing for keeping my ass off heroin as its a powerful drug itself and should be shared by everyone and anyone. i catch some flack here in tahoe for talking about spots on the internet but if i can put a smile on someones face that might not otherwise have one, then its all worth it. holier then thou, i was here 1st, you don't belong here bullshit just ain't right and i hope this guy either follows through w/ his claim or the tele nazis start whistling a different tune. maybe if i lived in a place like steamboat where there are seriously limited opportunities for bc skiing w/o a sled i might think differently but i doubt it.

I saw that today on the counter at Backdoor Sports and got a good laugh out of it. I liked the "Final Notice" in the upper corner - makes me feel like I'm in collections!

That guy needs a nice, warm "Lips-and-Link" sandwich from the Double Z.

    That'll calm him down.

Divulging stashes, this could get ugly.
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

People who don't think the Earth is flat haven't skied Vail.

I know the manifesto writer. A call to one state to another to the residence of author confirmed this.

The author is glad for the publicity. He does know these areas better than anyone really. He does not bootpack.

I do not condone any such actions.

Too many people taking limited resources and expecting solitude.

I knew excactly who did this before the confirmation call. Just call it a gut feeling.

Knowing the author and his view of society I am not suprised it came to this.

I am states away and do not plan on going to Colorado anytime soon. Havent been for a long time. But knowing the author I did laugh then felt some sorrow. Wishing he would have stayed up north. Because its 20 years behind, esp by me. Home is where the heart is.

Just shedding some light to a blown out of proportion conflict.

Not saying the snowboarder is a great guy, but telemark skiers are such faggots. First of all, telemark skiing is incredibly gay. Second of all, most telemark skiers are self-righteous, passive-aggressive douchebags.

Ideally, though, no note should need to be written. This boarder should've just beat teh everloving snot out of the hippie faggot that called him out.

He has been hanging back there long before most peeps thought of it. Without skins. Before tele was hip.

    But yes
too much time on my hands. Too many days in row syndrome.

Not me I cant ski every day anymore.

I just happen to know him. Small world.

I dont even think he has the internet.

Reading that thing I feel liked I walked into an argument that's been going on for a long, long time.

What, exactly, does he want? Is it really just that he wants people to be ... nicer to him?

I don't live in a ski town, and I don't know what sort of conflicts develop in that sort of situation, but seriously.... are people just not saying a friendly "hey" to each other on the skin-track and then minding their own fucking business?

    1. Seemingly, most bc tele skiers are jimmies. The self righteous and self important comment earlier in this thread nailed it right on the head.

    2. The guy who wrote that note needs to chill the fuck out. He gets all butt hurt from some guy calling him a name and being rude? Cripes. Get a life dude. Go to life counselor or something. If that gets to you, you have other things to worry about.
