2009 USSMA Race Schedule
Get your calendar out and start planning, because Pete Swenson just emailed me the preliminary schedule for the 2009 United States Ski Mountaineering Association (USSMA) Races. Pretty much every race held in the United States will now qualify as a USSMA sanctioned race. Mainly since the powers that be figure the more races…the better! Also, the USSMA is going with a new ranking method based on a points system already used in alpine and nordic racing. Points will be granted at each race and will be dependent upon the depth of the field and the difficulty of the course. It will allow racers from all over the country to compare their race results to one another.
