About 10 people die on Colorado slopes each year. Nationwide, those killed are mostly male, in their teens to early 30s, and are above-average skiers or boarders using intermediate runs, according to researcher Jasper Shealy, a Rochester Institute of Technology professor.

I left W/C south fork Friday am after skiing there for 6 of the previous 7 days.,


One thing I can tell you that absolutely pissed me off was the complete lack of Ski Patrol presence on the mountain. 90% of the mountain was Texi-tards and Okies. MUCH out of control skiing, and MUCH lack of policing the mountain. I think in 6 days there i saw maybe 4 patrollers one time each.


Now STFU - I am not peed at the patrollers at all. just the cheapskate motherfucking resort owner can;t keep a staff. You want 5k retards throwing down 100$ a day? FINE. Just staff the fucking place. The food lines were insane, the lifts kept breaking down, etc. I absolutely love W/C, but jesus fucking christ, this was going to happen.

These folks were sofa king out of control, none, I mean NONE of this should have happened.

ANARCHY. That's what it was. Were you there last week? How'd Sat & Sun 28th & 29th go? It was completely out of control. I had many close calls with complete fucktards that were given no warnings, no words of caution, no nothing. Assholes were scattered everywhere, lines for everything were beyond stupid, and it was not fun for anyone. I had my 8 & 5 year olds almost get nuked by fat assed out of control dickheads who souldn;t stop going uphill. You want another kid wrapping his shit around a tree and dead? I've been skiing for many years, on many mountains, and have seen many nasty things. This was beyond stupid.

I hate the speed police but when you have a place like Wolf Creek, which usually hosts 500-1000 skiers on a good day, take on 5000-6000 on Xmas/NY break and not beef up the staff - you are axing for a fucking tragedy/accident/death. These TX/OK fucktards were ALL over places they had no business riding. People on their second day of rentals asking "what's the easiest way down Treasure?" :gomer:And you have maybe 10 patrollies on the hill?

Hey dipshit, the staff IS beefed up for the holidays. I guarantee you there was a minimum of 25 patrollers on the hill those days. Yep, that's just about the WHOLE patrol. People working two week stretches to cover the extra stffing.
You didn't see them because they were running wrecks all day, literally. Pick one up, drop them off, bring your rig back up and ski off the lift directly to another. Double hat trick days for most of the patrollers. Have you ever done it you moron? I don't think so. I have, there, I know first hand how those days are.

WHY THE FUCK, would a parent have small children out skiing groomed blue runs during the Holiday shit show?

Moving around on a groomed run with several hundred 1 week a year skiers is like trying to cross a Highway @ 8AM.

Yes, I am from Indiana. It's where I am from, and where my job is, and where my family is, so fuck you if you do not like it. Not everyone wants to/gets to/has the means to ski where they want, live where they want and ski when they want. I have spent a shitload of time in the Rockies on skis, and just because I live in Indy, does not make me a dumbass. You have no idea who you are talking with, and just because you live in Pagosa/Creede/wherever, it doesn't make you right and me wrong. Or vice -versa. 25 Patrollers? OK, I'll give you that. but evidently it was not enough. JUST like there was not enough staff in the lodges, as Texas gapers were hording/saving tables everywhere, destroying what should have been a great experience.


My boys are 5 & 8 and this was their first trip West. I figgered (yep, like axing) that Wolf Creek would be the LEAST fucked up of Western resorts, in terms of crowds, good skiers vs. idiots (on Blues + ) and I walked away a HUGE fan of the Wolf Pups program in terms of value and results. Did the Texi-tards do that? uh, no. "We ain't need no lessuns". not only do they fuck up my day, but they fuck up their day as well. The only people who make out are the resort owners, and maybe Carrie at the bar, who seemed crushed but with a full tippy jar.

Unlike the fucking retards from Okie Dokie and Texas, I planned 9 days skiing, out for 2 weeks, drove out and spent over 4k. I had my kids in Pups all but the last day, and - along with Wolf pups - I taught them responsibility and courtesy on the mountain. Beginners should stay on Bunny Hop and Turnpike and stay off the Treasure lift or Alberta. Yes, IMHO, Patrol, as an instrument of Management, has the responsibility to make sure these morans do not fuck themselves up, or me and my family.

just because Uncle Dicky bought you a lift ticket and you can get on the lift, it does NOT give you the right to mach down Silver Streak or Tranquility putting yourself and others in danger.

maybe management could adress the problems BEFORE they have to go out and scoop up the goobers non-stop. Maybe.
