This whole thing reminds me of the whole Cupolo's storm over at Epic a few years back. Idiots piping in to defend a store for totally indefensible behaviour, doing it in an inappropriate way and just making the place look worse at every turn.

Clearly some of the posters are Neptune employees because they knew specific information about the incident that I didn't post. If this were mostly the work of random trolls, then why did the positive experience thread get deleted?

keeping it up 'cause Gary used to have a kick-ass store. But the attitude has kept me away for the last TEN years (after starting to shop [and climb] with him 30 years ago). seems as likely if not more likely that they are friends of neptune employees. this gives the employees the ability to deny involvement and allows these people to say "you're so stupid, I'm not a neptune employee" and know they are telling the truth.

Fair enough but it doesn't change the major point. The posts were so detailed that they either came from Neptune employees or were fed to friends by said employees. The source is the same in both scenarios.

Also, Bent Gate truly does suck. My girlfriend went in there last year to get sized for some spirit 3's. She's a size 9 women's. At least 5 guy's in there said she a was a 27.5. I could get 4 finger's behind the heel.

Funny, I had a similar experience, except replace "Bent Gate" with "Neptunes" and "5 guys" with "Neptune's proclaimed bootfitter and completely clueless sales clerk. I was fitted only two shell sizes bigger than I should have been.

My favorite horror story involves being accused of stealing That was a fun one. And the list goes on and on...

I don't understand how Neptune's can be completely oblivious to their reputation. This thread is not exactly news to many people. Outside Mag even jabbed at the store a couple years ago. Apparently the store can still function with the bad press, so maybe no one really cares.

Just want to say that I was in the store when adimmen came to pick me up. I was playing a little game with the sales guys and hid right behind them on a shelf. Pretty funny.

Anyway, adimmen is way out of line in his comments about how it all went down. Neptune's extremely qualified staff with years of experience and bunch of crap on the walls were more than helpful. Adimmen stuck his gaper, stinky ass front range poser feet in me and when the sales guy tried to check the fit, adimmen reached around and gave him the shocker. He then called his gaper ass front range poser friends on his cell phone to have a laugh about it. I get the impression they ski on water skis too.

I talked to some of my scarpa homeboys over at bent gate and the sales guys there have been hitting customers in the head with them when they walk in the door and ask for help. Apparently everyone who goes into bent gate gets aids too. There's also a little story about a dirty sanchez to some guy who came it asking for a binding adjustment. Having spent a little time at Neptune now, I can say this........they have a bunch of stuff on the walls, and you should spend lots of money there.

I do not in any way work for Neptune.....I just want to provide someone with a good fit. But I am WAY too stiff for a gaper ass front range poser like adimmen.......I have no idea why he'd even think he wanted a boot like me.
