You know what? I sort of have to agree with this dude. Does he sound like a loser? Well, not particularly. I mean, I don't really give a fuck what skis he uses or whether or not he has dukes (personally I wouldn't buy a first year marker binding but many on here seem to think that's just fine) - but he def. knows Vail a lot more than I do (my Vail knowledge = zero) and if I were there, fuck, he could show me around, I don't give a fuck.

If he turned out to be wack I'd find an excuse to ditch his ass. Whatever. I'm up for giving people a chance.

Of course, around here, you're not allowed to say shit like 'I have pretty good BC experience and like to hit pretty gnarly terrain and would expect the same from you.'. Nah. You gotta step up big, strut in with ya chest out, be like 'I fucking rip, step up pussies, WHAT!' Gun held sideways. You know my steeze.

That's what skiing's about, right? We gotta overcompensate for those years of gay-ass oakley blades, neon knee patches, o-face backscratchers. Shit, it wasn't that long ago that we were all getting punked by kids on those new 'snowboards' in the lift line. I bet half the stone cold killahs on here who beat jongs the fuck down on the daily still cry themselves to sleep over that snowboarder who blew pot smoke in his face as he pushed him out of the way in the lift line. Damn, somebody call the cops. I've just been violated by a delinquent.

Amirite? Am I fuckin rite? Somebody testify. Gun held sideways. You want to meet up to ski? Eat a dick, worthless scum jong.

Why would you have to overcompensate for cool?

the fact that so many people on this site just flame everyone else constantly is pretty sad if you ask me. the funniest thing is that pretty much everyone here says that they don't take the internet seriously, and yet there are all these people with aliases so they can flame away without anyone really knowing who they are. the reason why i came to this site is because i heard it was a great resource for pretty much anything related to skiing and snowboarding, but i didn't expect it to seem like a forum populated by angry, prepubescent boys trying to compensate for their inadequacies.

i am so glad i am in that 13.5 percentile. so this thread is irrelevant to me, my aliases and my non-existant friends who don't ski more than once a month

The simple answer is to leave if you don't like it. Either that or don't participate in the bs.

Says the 2007 guy that doesn't understand anything at all. So you heard we're a great resource, hey? What are we, your travel agency? Please, how may we serve you?

Says the 2006 guy that is starting to get a clue.

I love this place. Inadequacies and all. And I could give a rat's ass what any outsider or jong has to say about it. This is my haven, my home, my ski family...where people accept me and what I have chosen to do with my life. Which is to ski.

But none of us really ski anyway. Especially not with each other. We just post on the intraweb all day.

    Thumbs down

I have to say it's pretty funny reading folks like Phill throwing shit down with some sort of assumed authority--like you've been here forever and are some sort of anchor here. Yes, a thick skin is necessary here and it's always been that way to a certain degree but most of the posters in this thread wouldn't really know.

Everyone was new here at some point...and if you weren't new here, you were new at Powmag before...and if you weren't new there, you were new at K2 prior to that.

Yeah, SheRa--this place can be a resource for sure. Look at all of the tech, avy and geo info on here. You act like it pisses you off but we've heard you ask just as many stupid questions as the next person. Granted you've turned into an accomoplished skier and I do admire your dedication for shizzy but we've all been there, you know? Like you said, this place is what it is and a "resource" is what it is for many people.

So to all of you who think you're the "regulators" or police here--go fuck yourself. Really. There was always someone here before you.

My first post here was looking for someone to ski with and I got JONGed. Big fucking deal, there is no need to cry like a 10 year old girl about it.

In other news, the lurkers are out in force this week.

Whether he finds a partner is up to the people in CO. If they don't want to ski with him then they won't end of story. That thread on NS was pretty funny and this one too. I don't see anything wrong with the guy from his post. I guess he rubbed some people the wrong way.

anyone who takes the flame wars seriously here needs to step away from the computer & go outside for a bit.

this place is as good as any for blowing off steam, reading some great tr's, and killing time while stuck at work. it certainly motivates me to get out there 3-4 times a week.
