    MPC #7 Leading Lines. 10/25 - 11/09

    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.

    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.

    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 of the photos to put in a poll for the mags to vote on and decide the winner.

    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way not an option)

    5. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.

    Lets see some leading lines

Cool topic. Being new to photography I had to spend some time in google making sure I knew exactly what you meant but now the juices are flowing.

Sweet, maybe I'll take part in this one if I get a chance to use my camera this weekend.

I have the perfect photo for this. Only problem I suppose is it was taken in January, hahahah.

Nice. I thought you deserved a couple bonus point for your shot not being natively digital.

I always get a kick out of the "I have the perfect photo for this!" posts. The whole point of this thing is to get off yer ass and go shoot! It's provided some good motivation for me to capture things I don't normally when I'm out shooting and that's a positive thing.

no, i haven't. but if you could get in after hours you could shut off the ceiling lights and turns on the desk lamps to accentuate the lines on top of the cubicles

Good topic but it's probably gonna take some thought. In the past the contests have lasted two weeks, so we might want to extend it another week.

    Didn't notice that.

+1 for extending it. One week is too short IMO.

Gonna be tough to avoid the things that are obvious. Might actually need two weeks to find something original enough. I have 3 candidates from my drive home from work, but others might easily find the same subject matter...

No problem. I was just thinking that it seemed a bit hurried.

I can't edit the thread title for some reason? Anyway, it's been extended till the 9th, enjoy.

Just the shot I was expecting. I work just up the road near Rincon and that shot was the first idea that popped into my head as well.

I took some similar shots a couple years ago of this same stretch of road for one of my photo classes.

Runs almost perfectly straight and level for ~25 miles.

Killer photo! Could use some cropping, IMHO.

'Leading Lines' means leading somewhere (to a subject matter), not everywhere. Bahweed's photo leads to nowhere, too. My eyes drift up to the sky, thinking there will be something on the horizon line, but there's nothing to fixate on. If the topic was just 'lines' you'd be set.

But I'm just repeating what I read on a photo site, I've never heard of the term before today.

Nope - just need to be lines that lead the eye from one part of the frame to another. Here's another example: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/198/4...5333a0f9de.jpg

Tippster's correct. Funnily enough, my other idea for the MPC was going to be "S curves"...
