Yes, sweetie, you definitely smoked me this year, but Tahoe's past few seasons before this crappy one were pretty great. May I remind you that it was a big dump on a TAHOE weekend that was part of what "sparked" your passion for pow?

Next year is anyone's guess given the wackier and more unpredictable weather happening each year. I'd say game on, but with my job applications, interviewing, and teaching schedule, I'm sure you'll get more ski days than me next year - probably for a few years at least, unless I get a position near some choice mountains. Just wait until I get a sabbatical though, then I may be able to leave you in the dust.

Hi TGRers. I'm procrastinating at the lab, so I'm doing something unproductive: investigating the lurker/jong phenomenon, with pictures.

So TGR forums have 10,000 'members', how many of them actually post?

Not many. But it's hard to read on this graph because of those 3000+ post freaks . With the count on a log scale, it's a bit more legible:

So more than half of registered people haven't posted more than 5 times. About 10% haven't posted anything besides PMs.

Ok, I guess I’ve lurked enough, so I might as well introduce myself.

I live on the ice coast, but thankfully have spent the majority of the past 10 years skiing UT, CO or BC as I get extremely bored in the east. No East coast crap anymore – life’s too short. I average in the high 30’s, low 40 days / year.

I work in downtown NYC, and my house is 60 miles north, which takes 2 hours via mass transit. I rarely go in, and travel a lot, and in the winter I arrange the trips to go via CO or UT, so it works for me.

My quiver is full of Dynastar’s, including 8000’s, 8800’s and XXL’s, with a pair of K2 Axispro’s thrown in for good measure. I have two boys, a 16 who shares the Dynastars with me, and a 14 who’s a blader. If they hadn’t grown up in the northeast, they’d be kickin ass on big hills now, but those are the breaks. I've taken them to UT and CO, which is a lot better deal than I got at their age. They are pretty freaking good considering.

Sarcasm is my specialty , however I hope to be able to provide at least as much useless / dubious information, poor grammar/spelling/syntax, marginal thought processes and profane contributions as I see among the veterans.
