crest is still definitley not dry so please stay the heck off of it until at least sunday....I rode up from the canyons and dropped down into millcreek and within a half mile things started to get pretty wet so I turned around. There are still several small 1-2 foot snow banks on the sides of the trail that are dripping water across the trail so its best to stay off for a few days until we get some really hot temps in here this weekend.
There is also a wet section just west of desolation lake on the crest trail at the very start of the spot where its all downhill...
Great ride today up to MMT and down to The Canyons. Ran into 3-4 riders who rode Johns to Sweeneys to the crest to Murdochs and down. I was told that the crest is in great shape.
Hope to see you guys at the races this afternoon.

Just got back from a Crest-Mill D ride. Trail is completely dry, and absolutely ready to ride. Nice and buff in spots, a bit rutty here and there, but a blast![]()

Go out and help buff her out a bit.
Meant to post this the other day. While all the badass Utards (Rotorhead, the AG's, etc.) were getting their race on at Deer Valley last Saturday, TGirl and I hit opening day on the top half of the mountain. Trails are in very good shape right now, and it was a blast. Hell of a lot cooler than 100 in the valley too.
The wood rampy stuff off of Homeward Bound was a blast I thought, perfect for a Jong-ass like me who is trying to slowly learn how to ride skinnies and shit, without getting busted up.
Go get some before it is all D-U-S-T.
Sorry brotha, best lap of the day for sure was the last one with Maniloff (I suck). Hella fun trying to keep up with you mang. We need to get in a Crest ride or something before you head off to hang with LDD.
We'd have taken a few more laps together, but everytime we saw him, he was fixing a flat tire.
Mini TR on the Moose:
My brother in law and I went up and road the Moose last night for the first time. Due to a very late start and one wrong turn... we reached the top of the hill after the sun had set. Luckily we were able to get through most of the steep techy stuff with a bit of light. However, we did end up riding most of the trail in the dark. This trail is so smooth. It must be incredibley fun when you can actually see what your doing.
I think most of the light had disappeared by the time we reached the anasazi ladder; but, we gave er a go anyway. It got incredibly dark after that, especially considering how thick it is in some areas. It was all we could do to make out a thin dark line where the ulta skinny single track wove through the brush. Yet, due to the fact it was so smooth, we were able to keep speeds up and roll with it. I only had one incedent where I trusted the smoothness too much and ended up plowing my front end into the upside of a very small river crossing that I never saw comming. Endoed big time. The crossing would have to be manualed in order to get your front wheel up the other side; but, I never even saw it coming in the dark.
Anyway, hopped back on the rig and continued the decent. All though we had to ride out in the dark, we left with smiles on our faces. I'm excited to get back up there with some vision.
Fun trail in great shape with smooth dirt. steap and techy with some tight switch backs in the beginning. Then it just flows out on a skinny smooth single track the rest of the way. And yes, the push your bike up the big hill makes you wonder if there's anyway it can be worth it... it is.
So, I'd like to hit the trail again next week if anyone is in...
hey pow When do you want to hit the moose again?
I don't hunt because the word hunting infers the probability of failure. JOhNGchrist goes killing.
Johnc - I'm leaving for the Uintas right now. I'll be back sometime on Sunday. I'll drop you a line next week and let you know. All I know right now is that Tuesday is for sure out.
