This is the worst pain EVER!
Hah great pic Lonnie. That is classic Utah dust riding. Every time I've ridden AF it's been like that.
I'm so hardcore, I'm gnarcore.
even though its small air I still love this picture.
Lonnie I have great pictures but cant uplaod right now for some reason.
I got on the crest to Mill D on Saturday. I did so fully willing to back down if conditions weren't right. If you ride up the dirt road to Puke hill. you will avoind making a mess near Jupiter. After that, the trail is pretty clean other than about 4 very small spots where you "should" dismount and skirt the small mud puddles. I did dismount and walk around the few areas that were muddy. Obviously there are tracks from others who were less concerned about rutting out the trail. It is also the case that there are many dry ruts from people who truddged through the mud over the last few weeks before the ground dried out. I would say that the major rut damage has been done in weeks past. I feel that I was able to ride the trail without causing damage to the trail or sides of the trail. You just need to be concerned and use common sense at this point.
This morning, I enjoyed another great ride on Holly's Uphill, Ambush and Holly's Downhill. The trails are in excellent shape. ...Very dry; some dust. The only caveat is that there are literally hundreds of sheep pocking the Downhill, and I also noticed two huge white Pyrenees eyeing me as I slowly cruised by. Actually, it had a really nice european feel to it. I took some pics with my cell phone, but I'm not sure how to download them. If I figure it out, I will share.
These are good, fun, technical trails to ride. A good workout, too.

I rode Mill D to the Crest yesterday, all good to go (getting dusty in fact). I was going to ride down to Big Water up to Dog Lake then back down Mill D, but in the first 1/4 mile of the Crest I hit at least 100 yards of rutted mud, so I turned around. I can't belive it is the only one on the crest. My guess is another week, maybe two if we get mountain snow tomorow.
Any one want to ride/shoot in muller tonight? I will be heading out about 5 or so.
bobsled lunch, fast, airy, windy, dusty, snakes, kids, flowers, times 3.14etc and then some more

Stupid sexy winter in June. D'oh.
I'm kinda wishing I had brought a shovel and a rake to work today so we could go up and fix up the drops in Bobsled.
Last time I was in there the approach trail was as you say scary loose up top and then was actually pretty nice and packed in for the rest. My feelings might be a bit skewed though because of the monster tires I was running. Josh and I have also been looking at improving some of the trannies on the smaller side wall drops. One in particular is pretty dug out and could use some support to make it last. I won't even hit it as it is now. Also, it would be good to extend some of the trannies a bit so they don't just instantly flatten (or even dish) back into the trail. Some are so short that both my tires can't fit on the tranny at the same time, so the front tire is landing flat. Any speed and you go straight to flat with both tires. I'm all about good landings if at all possible. Bad ones just sketch me out, even if they are small drops.
Why not just extend the tranny over the main trail then? Then one side of it could be a small jump for those not riding the drops. That would be pretty cool IMO. I think people would love it.
The landing on the big jump is fine, it's that take-off that sucks. It needs to be dug out a bit and moved back, then you'll hit the tranny perfect. I've been avoiding the bigger one though because the in-run sucks so bad. The small one is fine, you just have to stay way left to catch a good piece of tranny.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
Yeah, I don't like having to stay left off the little one. I want more room and the center to right is just dug out. I'm definately no expert on trail maintenance or building. Haven't really built any trails since I was a kid, and most of that was dirt jumps and BMX tracks.
Anyways, it just looks like there is some options for improving this stuff further. People have done so much already this year and I feel like I should put in a little time too. It would have been good to do so on a rain day.
so riding PC area somewhere with a maggot and his new bike. If anyone want to come on a little slower ride I ll post the location tomorrow morning.
got attacked by a grouse on the midmountain trail

on some trail condition rode Flying Dog loop today, so many people onit but the trail is noticeably smoother than it was 2 weeks ago.
Does anyone want to show me round valley tomorrow?
I rode all day up in PC today, you guys have it sooo good. I stayed lost most of the day but I know I was on mid-mountain, tour de suds and the super d course at DV then finished up with some goodness that the AG's showed me last year. The trails are nice, a little dusty on the sunny exposures but nice and grippy otherwise.
I rode Flying Dog and Glenwild yesteday and they both in great shape. Flying Dog needs to see some more riders to smooth it out a bit more but it's still super fun. Anyone up for riding in PC or SLC tomorrow?
^^ I've got my bike with me today, planing on riding after work, (about 4).
