Hey, thats Mr Filthy McNastypants to you.

My list of young lefty pitchers who really piss me off:
    1) Ted Lilly - pwned the sox as an A and Jay
    2) Scott Kazmir - I'm really pscyhed about the next 5 or 6 years of utter pwnage
    3) Erik Bedard - See "Scott Kazmir"

    Honorable Mention:
Daniel Cabrera, for potential future pwnage

    Those guys are bitches.

I really hate that guy, but I'm glad he exists because one of my good friends with whom I talk lots of baseball is a Mets fan. He is to the Mets what Jeff Bagwell is to the Sox, only worse.

And I think it's Filthy McNastypants-san. Unfortunately, the Japanese translation of "Filthy McNastypants" translates to "One whose unsanitary trousers are in a state of disarray," which is an insult in that culture.

going to Boston (Wellesley, actually) to meet up with my family for my grandfather's 90th birthday this weekend. I told a friend I was coming out, maybe we could meet for a drink, and he called me today to tell me he got me a ticket (on the 3rd base line) to Friday's game.

I can't go. there's no way. It's a family reunion. I haven't seen my mom since she came out for christmas, and I skied every single day she was here, she recently reminded me. Fuck.

The demise of the Yankee starting staff...

...may have been predicted a bit prematurely. Two rookies, two reasonably good outings.

Uh... OK. I'm willing to bet he'll be just fine. Same with the several other top minor league prospects they have in their system.

    MANNY!!!!!

Honestly, the Yankees do a decent job developing talent. Cabrera is decent, Hughes as well. Im not counting Jeter/Rivera/etc cause they were in the old regime before Steinbrenner started taking charge. Since he became more hands off, theyve done a nice job. Though it helps when you can afford a salary like Abreu to free up space of the Phils for just a few prospects (and I know...the Red Sox are capable as well)

I'm signing Hughes up for flying lessons as soon as he starts making that big league money.

Don't you know- he's in a walk year! He's going to be clutch this year... until October.

Brock, dont forget Cano and Wang. Tabata is going to be the real deal, as are several of their pitching prospects.

I am so fucking psyched for this series. I just scored some monster seats for Sundays game, and I'm stoked to see Dice-K go. He has back to back starts against the yankees this week, pitching his next game on Friday at Yankees stadium, should be interesting to see how he handles the madness.

Joel Piniero said in an interview:

"Everybody has been asking me 'Are you ready for the zoo tomorrow?'" said Red Sox reliever Joel Pineiro, who spent the first seven years of his career with Seattle. "I can't wait to get out there. I can't wait to go out there and beat up on the Yankees. ... The fans in Boston, they want us to rip their heads off."

Seriously, a quote from Joel Piniero to show the Red Sox- Yankees rivalry... Couldn't you have found someone a little more, uh, better?

now they go on a three game at-home series with them.. both teams are hot. should be cool.. when the mets sweep them!

If Piniero cares enough about the rivalry and red sox fans, he'll take himself of the roster.

Good point. I don't think he's going to get in many innings this weekend.

Of course, when Schilling gets taken out in the 4th tonight, he may have to.

Piniero's been pitching better. I'm not sure I'd trust him completely, but he's don his job as of late.

Jonathan Papelbon needs to steal Shawn "Im a gigantic fraud who talked a lot of shit and didnt show up in the playoffs" Merriman's Lights Out dance.

    Schilling: 6.2 IP 7 hits 3 runs 5 K's 2 BB

And...Manny takes Scott Proctor deep with a 400+ foot HR (if they let Proctor face him).

Schilling: 4 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 4 Ks, 1 BB. Pettitte steps up and throws 7 innings of 1-run ball.
