"Active management in bear markets tends to outperform. Unfortunately, investors are not as elated with relative returns when they are negative. But it does support the argument that active management adds value." -- independent fund analyst Peter Loach
Uncle Crud is right, look peanut butter disproves evolution.

More proof that america's education system needs a serious overhaul.
"the rest of the civilized world has closed this debate long ago and is looking at you in utter bewilderment "
that's a bold statement coming from France, pretty Catholic iirc.....
pfft. I got a biochem degree in a box of crackerjacks.
what theory of evolution are we talking about here?
convergent, divergent, parallel, lateral transfer, punctuated etc.
Or maybe directed- Intelligent by Design!
On a side note, my 2nd grader son is studying dinosaurs. in catholic school. Not that I have a bone to pick about that...the giganotosaurus could totally take down a T-rex.
Move upside and let the man go through...
yeah hilarious isn't it? what would the US then look like compared to that if even they have closed this debate long ago? christian fundamentalist? bwahahaha
oh wait. didn't you guys elect some dork for president lately who believes to be on some god given mission to bomb irak to make this world a better place or something?
gheee that's some funny shit right there man..
Religion is for the weak minded who need to believe that there is something else and that they won't just be dirt after they die. It's comforting to believe that we're going somewhere after we die but it isn't very rational. That being said... if it makes people feel better than there's nothing wrong with that. Evolution obviously has alot of scientific data behind it -- it is very hard to refute.
To put it into context... there is a whole lot more proof of evolution than there is for global warming. Now I'm not saying global warming doesn't exist but just that we don't have as much scientific data to back it up.
I always laugh when I hear Olympians that say that if it wasn't for Jesus H. Christ they would never be where they are. They seem to forget the 10+ hours a day they practice and the team of scientists they have behind them to figure out the biomechanics so that they can shave off that two-tenths of a second. It just sounds silly.
Rant over.

I used to think evolution was a pretty credible theory, but after that video, I'm totally going to have to change my view. I hadn't realized that god created peanut butter. I wonder why he put salmonella in it. Maybe it was that darned ant. God works in mysterious ways.

Yes and no :
"There are an estimated 45 million baptised Catholics in France, (77% of the population), in 98 dioceses, served by 23,000 priests. However, according to a 2003 poll, the numbers of believing and practicing Catholics are much lower. According to Froese (2001), 54% of the French are atheist or agnostic."
Anyway :
"Some new findings lead us toward the recognition of evolution as more than an hypothesis.* In fact it is remarkable that this theory has had progressively greater influence on the spirit of researchers, following a series of discoveries in different scholarly disciplines. The convergence in the results of these independent studies—which was neither planned nor sought—constitutes in itself a significant argument in favor of the theory."

"Typically euro, french in particular, in my opinion. It's the same skiing or climbing there. They are completely unfazed by their own assholeness. Like it's normal." - srsosbso
Edit...note to self. Read story first before commenting.

Connecting the dots here...
Critical thinking has become too time intensive in schools-teachers are concerned with getting students to memorize a bunch of trivia to pass ridiculous standardized tests, mandated by No Child Left Behind, created by GWB. Coincidence?
Evolution happens. It means "changes over time". Lots of stuff changes over time, including the law of gravity's effect on body parts sagging. (Gravity is a law, not theory- F=ma) What gets peoples panties in a bunch is the one little observation made by Darwin that apes and humans appear to be similar-this is what people are referring to when they say, "I don't believe in evolution"-what they mean to say is their religious beliefs or mindset or little voices in their heads, says that apes did/ did not evolve into humans. Darwin had a difficult time publishing his observations because of his deep religious convictions-remember he was studying to become clergy before setting sail on the Beagle. He noticed similarities, he didn't say it was fact.
And this is the leading paradigm of biology. Plate tectonics, the leading paradigm of geology, had a tough time catching on, too.
Scientific laws are facts, as in gas laws, (PV=nRT), gravity, most stuff that can be written in a mathematical equation. Theories explain and predict phenomena-Laws and theories work together. For example, Gas Laws are based on Atomic Theory-which explains and predicts what atoms and molecules do.
Thanks for reading today's science lesson.
