I had FIOS (Verizon Fiber Optic) installed at the Obstruction manse yesterday and that sumbitch is as fast as stink.

In addition to sucking I'm a cheap bastard so I took the low ball option at 5Mbps/2 Mbps, but based on what I've seen over the past two days I won't need a whole lot more in the near future. Coupla connectivity quirks out of the gate but I'm pretty happy with it.

I also ditched Comcast and went with the FIOS TV and phone. No more $$$ and much more speed on the intraweb, reception on the tube and actually less $$ on the phone.

All this and Verizon Wireless on one consolidated bill each month is going to make me nostalgic for the days of the black rotary phone and rabbit ears, though.
