I think you are screwed! Powdr corp of Park City UT bought Killington and Pico. This is the company that also owns Mt Bachelor Or. and Alpine Meadows, Ca. among a couple of other minor holdings (Boreal and Mt Charelston NV.). Considering what they have "done" in Oregon you can now say "There goes the neighborhood!". Best of luck to you.

You're assuming that there's been a "neighborhood" to fuck up, which.... no. K-mart is about as charming as.... K-Mart.

I haven't skied Killington ever. Just going on what was said about it being the best and the East and ASC being great. No real world experience with either, but Powdr Corp will not improve the situation I am sure.

Oh, I would say the odds for improvement are very high. Except for the price.

If Powdr puts any effort and funds into improvements at Killington that would be quite unusual for them. What they have done for Bachelor is build a tubing park which is a cash cow. It's a minimal expense to build and operate and it creates a great deal of revenue. They began "phase one" of snowmaking five years ago and have not expanded it. This was a total waste. It is hardly ever needed or used which is no doubt why they have not expanded it. Generally we get plenty of snow. They did a face lift on the main lodge which was built in the 60's. NIce, but it did not solve much as fas as the real issues with the facility. From what I have seen they haven't done much at Alpine at all. For your sake I hope it works out well. However, any funds Powdr spends on Killington (and/or Pico) is that much less that will be spend on their other holdings. Nothing really has been done in five years to improve the quality of skiing.

    Fixed it for you.
And if you're refering to MY post, you should read carefully and note large amounts of sarcasm.
The only thing worse than the feeling that you are going to die is the realization that you probably won't.
