skiing in UT gets less safe

Sheriff's deputies raid high-tech pot farm in Salt Lake City home
    The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated:12/08/2006 09:04:55 AM MST

Posted: 9:03 AM- The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office uncovered an elaborate marijuana-growing operation early this morning in Salt Lake City.
The suspect has a homicide conviction on his record, so deputies called in the SWAT team to serve the warrant around 4:30 a.m. at 759 S. Kilbourne Court, according to sheriff's spokesman Paul Jaroscak.
Once inside, they found "a very, very sophisticated marijuana-grow operation," he said. "It was hydroponic - no soil. It's grown in water, with water pumped in and out of tubs. He had pipes and lights on timers, a venting system. He even had a surveillance camera on the outside."
The plants occupied several rooms in the home, according to their size, Jaroscak said.
Deputies were still counting this morning, but had recovered at least 60 marijuana plants of varying sizes.
The owner, John Scott Beverleigh, 52, and Angela Rekoutis, 28, of Salt Lake City, were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana.

"grown in water" - don't hyrdroponists usually use rockwool or something?

Edit - not that I know the first thing about marijuana cultivation.

Question: how much more pot would they have to find to arrest him for just "cultivation of marijuana"?

"Well, let's see, he's a convicted murderer with a full hydro set-up in his basement and a surveillance camera on the outside of the house. But let's hear what he has to say."

Well, it'll make the accoutrements necessary for a successful safety meeting a little harder to come by...

On the other hand, there's one less murderer on the loose, so it's probably a wash.

Smoke pot... support murderers. Just goes to show. Don't you think its funny how some people will only buy stuff that is fair trade or organic, or not from Wal-Mart, yet not give a rats ass to where their money goes when they buy drugs? This just goes to show the stupidity and hypocrisy of left wing hippy freaks.

Lets hope they remove this scum from society. Besides, you can still get your pot and meth from the Mexican drug cartel.

Saw footage on TV of the plants. Tears were shed.

    Said 100 plants on TV.

Regardless, that was a big ass pile of plants and buds. Huge.

Well, I think you get my point. Sure if it was legal then it would be easier to smoke pot with a clear conscience, but as it stands right now it is impossible to do so 'ethically' without supporting all sorts of bad people.

i don't have a problem with our system. I just hope that he gets an extremely harsh punishment. BTW when you intentionally take someone's life there is no amount of 'debt' that you can repay.

    SSD: ask a lawyer
NSB: your a moron, traveled the world and had things in UT as good as anywhere, locality is not exclusive anymore. UT law is not any harder on weed than anyywhere else save NorCal and ASpen
disarray: point taken but I think the job opportunities for convicted murders begin and end with congressional staff and janitors
