Question about Cingular VISA debit/rebate card...

So they sent me this $100 Visa "debit" rebate credit card thingy as a rebate when I bought my wireless air card. I'm sure you're all at least familiar with the rebate card concept...

I don't really need to spend it, I just want it in my bank account instead. So I thought about charging it and paypaling it to myself, but that would cost me like four bucks...

7-11 only lets you get $20 cash back at a time, so that would mean I could buy five packs of gum, get cash back each time, and I'd end up with about ninety something dollars in cash. ....But then I'd need to go deposit it in the bank. That all seemed like a huge pain in the ass.

    Time for some maggot ingenuity.

*1,000 gnar points to whoever figures out the cheapest way for me to get the MOST money off this card, and into my savings account., preferably electronically.* Go.

It isn't actually a debt card. I just got one and you can't use it to get cash out of ATM's. My suggestion is going to a place that allows you to get cash back from a credit card purchase.

I had no luck anywhere in Jackson Hole. I just used it to buy drinks at the Moose. I wouldve liked to just put it into my bank account but counldn't figure out how.

these suck. I just got one for $50. you can't use a credit card for a partial amount, usually, so you have to buy something that costs precisely the amount of the card, or you will leave money in Cingular's account. You thought when you cut out the UPC you were almost done? Nope. More gaming the system. I bet they will save $1,000,000 a year sending these cards out instead of checks.

I am going to use mine for gas - have them run the whole amount and then get change for whatever's left. Damned if I'm leaving any balance on that card.

In response to your question, I can't think of an easy way to get all the $$ into your savings account.

Not true. I used my $50 cingular card multiple times. I have $2.00 left on it but that is pretty much going to go to waste.

any chain restaurant type place will let you say "put two dollars and eighty three cents on this one, 10 dollars on this one, and the rest on this one." they'll do it, but they may hate you. back when I worked at chili's I got this all the time.

Wouldn't you be able to charge some exact amount (e.g. 20), and get cash back for the rest...?
We're sorta like 7-Eleven. We're not always doing business, but we're always open.

Here's a way to get all your cash:

Until the end of the year google checkout is fee-free.

I just had telechuck purchase a backpack from me with it--all I had to do was create a generic "product" on google base--super easy to do if you have a gmail account.

Then he sent me $$$ with his credit card which google deposited in my checking account. 100% of it.

So it would probably require having two google accounts, one to pay and one to receive, but it should work.
