Pretty much every resort in BC constitutes a 'powder resort' and outside of Whistler and a couple of the other big players they are all empty 95% of the time.
Yeah ^^ I heard there is powder everywhere in BC and the MJ grows free-range on the highway shoulder
Wenatchee sure does sound "sustainable and normal." From the Seattle Times today:
"According to an analysis of all U.S. metro areas by Bloomberg, Wenatchee has risen fastest in the rankings of America’s costliest places to live since 2010."
In 2010, the Wenatchee metro was the 194th-costliest metro in the nation. Skip ahead to 2021, Wenatchee is now ranked as the 36th-costliest U.S. metro, and climbed 158 spots in the rankings since 2010, the most of any metro area in the entire country.
Leavenworth homes now cost nearly the same as Seattle (median home-listing price in Leavenworth is around $749,000, Seattle’s $814,000).

Oh, Leavenworth is Wenatchee? Gotcha. There’s lots of working class people in this valley. Real jobs and the entire economy isn’t based on real estate and tourism down here. It’s expensive and desirable but you call it shitty. Which is it? Stay in Tacoma loser

The article is about Wenatchee metro. Bottom line, because of people like Unicorn constantly bragging how awesome it is Wenatchee has gone from a sleeper affordable place to live to one of the most expensive metro areas of the nation, and without an increase in local wages to support the high costs.

Enjoy Tacoma loser
Did you know that the Wenatchee metro is all of Chelan and Douglas counties? This includes Leavenworth, Lake Wenatchee, City of Chelan and Manson and some smaller locales that are filled with luxury second homes and wealthy retirees. Surely someone as smart as you could see that that affects the overall picture when you talk about median home prices.

That’s been the average base depth at Mission Ridge for over 50 years. Eventually it will be untenable but not in my lifetime

Difficult crowding today..
.
would you two shut the fuck up!
Now Lakeview and Dillion will become expensive metro areas,
all your fault!
.
It takes a certain kind of person to enjoy Lakeview

I'll tell you what, places like maverick need more support. Ppl killing themselves in the red doing it to keep small cool hills alive. Buy a 45$ ticket. Get a hot dog and a beer.
That’s an epic road trip right there

Snow Creek is a hidden gem on Epic... even has the old chairlifts from Berthoud Pass.
As that article points out, from the beginning of any of our lives, to 2010, Wenatchee had below average cost of living. Then from 2010 to today, cost of living rose as fast as anywhere in the nation and now is above average. Multiple factors are at play. The explosion of wealth in Seattle. The explosion of the tech industry in Seattle, and it's propensity for work from home jobs. But I believe social media hype played a roll as well. Prior to 2010, Wenatchee wasn't on people's radar. Now it is.
Some places aren't as high risk for Bendification. But Wenatchee, being less than three hours from Seattle, was always a prime candidate. I give Unicorn shit because he smugly assumes that Wenatchee is immune to these forces.
Wenatchee isn’t immune and you’re not telling me anything I don’t know. The picture you paint is incomplete though. I expect nothing less from a pedantic twat.

Conundrums post in this thread almost brought me back to TGR. OVer-your-head awesomeness, followed by several witty comments.....but alas the dumb libtards trying to suck each other off before the the other libtard sucked them off has driven me back into obscurity......Quote:

In fact, I bet if you posted pics of you possibly and your wife, the crew around here could catch your vibe and narrow the hunt.
Nice!
Holy fuck, a blurred post, splat and big tim post as well. Damn
Well I hear that Vail is a fine place to find great powder, it's worth checking out. ;)
I’ve been eyeing Wenatchee since high school, like 40 years ago. I moved here in 2003, I saw a job opening and didn’t think twice about leaving the Bay Area.

^^^Where’s the thread where he got his skis stomped on by a local for (attempt at) cutting the line?
Just another low key day at Alta…
Is the McCall-cascade valley already blown out? Just looked at it on some maps and it seemed promising. Lakes and skiing and mountains.
Check the housing prices on Zillow and you shall have your answer.

Hah, I like the house that went from 1.1 to 3.5 mil in 2 years and hasn’t been updated since the 70s. WOW.
I give up. I can’t fathom how people have so much money. I even make a decent amount of money and anything over 400k just seems insane. It really sucks that my wife likes water shit and I like skiing. It’s literally impossible to find somewhere affordable with both.
