I believe they're water constrained this week, not cold constrained. Sunday River, Bull Branch and the ground nearby are all wicked dry, and their's no Denver water board for the COO to trade his soul for water too. Shelly's shot from yesterday shows very little progress around the base area.
With the warm front and a half inch or so of rain, I'd just harden up upper Locke and capture all the water I can for Sunday and Monday nights.
ya i was shocked to see them trying to blow down low with the heatwave and hot rain on the way. press the reset on george so it looks. gonna try to hit the riv on the sunday or monday the 17th/18th of nov for the 1st gym day. unless there's good surf, of course. surf should be fun this weekend.

Free skiing at Bretton Woods today. One trail off the quad. Went up there for about an hour this morning and it was decent enough, plenty of snow and no walking or downloading. Not sure how late they're running the lift but if anyone has the afternoon off it might be worth rallying up there.
^^ It's ok, without snowtires Rog will be using less gas than those of us who roll with snows ;)
Way late to the party . . .
One more month until I am cleared for full activity. My grade 2 mcl tear last january turned out to be a completely torn mcl and acl, small meniscus tear, and a tibial plateau fracture. major misdiagnosis to say the least. crushing pt in the meantime. looking forward to the season.
i just saw you wasting gas. drive to work with a commute less than 20 miles each way? pfft get a fucking bicycle and get yer spiegel ass in shape, boy! thought you'd at least give me shit for riding across 6 lanes of traffic on gosling road in flip flops, carhartts, and a ball cap. my work attire:fm:
sorry i didn't stop, my burrito was getting cold. hope you enjoyed your salad from shaws. bwaaaaah!

Another ski area online for October skiing. St-Sauveur opened for the season at 3pm. Open until 7pm. Note it has been the 3rd year out of the last 5 that MSS managed to open in October.
MSS is opened tomorrow, I believe its $5 for anyone in a Halloween costume.
While I'm upload some picture for my TR of last Saturday, I did a small blog post to mark the great start to the season.
October jumps to the ski season

Anyone know if Bretton Golf Course is running the lift again tomorrow?
Just saw the forecast... suck.
After the TKR I used a nice brace for a good while, but weaned off it. No ACL in that knee, so some regular support work is part of life.
Brace strategies vary, but since the goal is to get past needing one, some meidico/physio advice is par for the course. Good luck!
Last day to get a "cheap" $towe pass.
Who doesn't want to ski with the beautiful people?

Damn, lots of former gimps, good to hear everybody is healed or close to it. Compared notes with Biff yesterday and feel very lucky based on his story, glad to hear your long road to recovery is almost over dude! 5wks in to a ruptured mcl and non-displaced fracture of the distal femur lateral condyle...looking forward to getting the all clear to start pt in the next few weeks once the fracture is healed and hoping to be out on the slopes by the time Santa comes calling. Robrox, I've been following the brace mandate so far but damn those things are a pita once you have to transition from shorts to pants!
Don't need to go for that. Speaking of that image. If I see another add on tv down here for the hermitage club I may throw up. I think that place needs a visit mlk weekend from a bunch of mags - pre-dawn skin up and nekid ski down with get away vans waiting for us! Just to let them know we love their club. The east coast yellowstone club - didn't they go bankrupt? Crap.

Ya, I have to say I've only seen that once, but it is interesting from a business perspective. It might just survive from the CT, NY, MA crowd. At least it will spread some people out in the S Vt region.

You guys should all be doing single leg squats.

Per the Red Sox S&C coach:
"This is the best ACL prevention and ACL rehab exercise ever however you need to progress to it. In fact this is our standard "return to play" test. If you can't one leg squat as illustrated you are not strong enough and risk re-injury in competition. This applies to males and females regardless of size."
You can stop progressing it when you can 1 leg squat as much as this skinny guy:

Simple little video by buddy Ryan Denning made from a day of touring we did in and around Bolton last winter... spent about 80% of the day in the backseat trying to get a pretty view of the sky above, but fun nonetheless.
