Hah, nice article. Will be on the lookout for Red Sox starter jackets on the slopes.

You guys should all be doing single leg squats.

Per the Red Sox S&C coach:

"This is the best ACL prevention and ACL rehab exercise ever however you need to progress to it. In fact this is our standard "return to play" test. If you can't one leg squat as illustrated you are not strong enough and risk re-injury in competition. This applies to males and females regardless of size."

You can stop progressing it when you can 1 leg squat as much as this skinny guy:

Somehow prior to this I've managed to avoid any serious knee injuries, I guess we just don't bounce like we used to once we have a few more miles on the odometer.

I'm sure there are a lot of those in my very near future Rob, thanks.

Simple little video by buddy Ryan Denning made from a day of touring we did in and around Bolton last winter... spent about 80% of the day in the backseat trying to get a pretty view of the sky above, but fun nonetheless.

Damn that looks nice. I need to find someone to show me around Bolton, I've spent 2 days there futzing around and the only good thing I "found" in the back / sidecountry was the gash at the top. And anyone can see that.

neufox Denning would make a great tour guide... his TGR name is Rdennhs. There is some short, steep, fun stuff off of the back and most of the rest was just doing skin laps underneath the Timberline quad, which they weren't running mid-week that day.

some fun stuff off of a mtn just to the ese and a ridge to the ne as well. that area is best suited for waxless lighterweight gear with kicker skins as backup. zero transitions that way. more laps and area covered in shorter time.

...especially if you try to mount your own Quiver Killers and you fuck up the hole drilling (as I did).

THE PLATTEKILL WORK DAY IS ON FOR TOMORROW- COME OUT AND DO SOME GLADE CLEARING!

    please know:
The mountain cannot provide any tools. You can operate your own saws and chain saws as long as you have safety gear such as hard hat, glasses and chaps and leather boots, steel toe preferred as required. and common sense.

It would be super if a few people comfortable with their use could bring a chain saw- WITH GAS .

    SEE YOU THERE / THEN

Loads of fun around here. Woke up at 5 with no power, break out the bike lights. Call GMP and get a work order started, mine is the only house out in the area on a street with 4 houses, 3 unoccupied. Crush coffee beans with a pair of linesman pliers to start some joe, where is that Primus? Wind is roaring outside with on and off rain.
Get a call at 8 that a roof I prepped for a standing seam roof has lost some tarpaper and now leaking. Client miffed I did not respond to their e-mail from 12 am. Went over to fix this by adding a new layer of paper in the wind driven rain. Off to the next job and step back in the living room and feel something crunch, look down and find a half dead Deconed mouse. Set a fucking trap, OK.
Get a call from my granite vendor that another client [from Ma] is driving them crazy over their countertops, get this straightened out and confirm measurements, wish them "good luck" as she is on her way to Vt to look a different slabs they have brought in for veiwing.

EVERY SINGLE FLAKE OF SNOW HAS MELTED OFF THE HILL

The slate floor I grouted yesterday looks awesome and I sealed it, will be installing the new wood in their mudroom tomorrow. Installed the finish scribe piece on new kitchen, looks great, Ma. woman should be happy on my end.

    Fuck I need a drink.

^^^^^^^pretty bold to only tar paper roof with wind and rain in the forecast. no tarps in vt? client too cheap for bituthene? guess that'd be way overkill with standing seam, but aren't the mcmansions all over vt, overkill?

all snow gone. well it is pre-mid january.

love the blog dood. i got work to do

Anyone else heading up to Platty tomorrow? I couldn't take Lemmy up on the ride offer tonight, so I'd be solo tomorrow. Hit me up if you're interested.

Client is an old friend, house is a hippy built freakshow that I have been attempting to save from water ingrees and carpenter ants for yhe last 15 years, certainly no "mcmansion". Bitch is really overkill for standing seam and no way to get a tarp on this area [see hippy built]. I have all of the tools [crimpers, benders, nibblers] and have done a couple of SS roofs in the past but the combo of the house being built on a rocky knob with horrible access and no current quality roof monkees available to assist I passed on this job.

How about a 2003 style Dec. 125" at MRG with no crowds pre Santa = powville bliss? Of course it rained hard during the holidays.[what else is new]

Good news is my Fox44 ski card arrived yesterday
