Skiing wise, I have no complaints with the Strive 16 MN...
However, even with toe adjustment cranked to the max, the sliding AFD keeps sliding out under my non-gripwalk soles. This is especially really skiing hard or cranking carves on the groomers? Thoughts? My initial thought was to just put gripwalk soles on (I can) and then test.

Hmmm.... That's weird. Just got a pair to mount on some new DPS Koalas.. Did you find a fix?
^^ double check forward pressure. Too little FP has been the cause of mysterious sliding afd issue for me in the past (on other bindings though not specifically the strive)
It’s weird, that step is supposed to be in contact per the mount instructions (below). But it sucks it’s eating your boot. I had a pair of Full Tilts that would get eaten by my Pivots back in the day. Maybe a bad batch of plastic?Quote:

I have some issues with my Strives 14 GW with alpine sole boots as well. There is noticeable lateral or rotational movement in the toe when putting lateral pressure on the ski tip, i.e. in forced turns across the fall line. Didn't have any prereleases up to now but the movements are pretty annoying. I usually ski Pivots and at the same DIN (9) I don't experience any movement at the toe with same boots whatsoever. The forward pressure is set correctly according to the manual. Other than that the binding works pretty well and there is not a big difference to a Pivot skiing wise, maybe slightly less elasticity and a little higher stand and delta.
Salomon for life...thought about Pivots but the head honcho at Moment doesn't think I'd like the Pivots given my love to the salomon STH heel.Quote:

Alright, switched to Gripwalk soles and issue still continuing with the sliding AFD. Next step, is to really dial in the forward pressure and loosen to the toe height and go from there.
Got a couple days in on my new Strive 14s. No AFD issues. The step in is very solid and re-assuring. I did perceive some slight up/down movement on one heel. I moved the heel a hair forward and this resolved.
Went through a bunch of re-frozen chunder, and over-shot a few side hits, taking really hard landings. Not a single pre-release at my normal setting. Happy to have the lighter weight binding.
What's the verdict on Strive? Corbetts has a good deal on 'em right now. MNC vs GW? 12/14 vs 16?
theyre great. Mnc doesn’t have the auto toe so you have to manually adjust the height. 16 has the sth2 heel.Quote:

AFAIK, The 16 is the only one the robust old Salomon heel. They sound nice when clicking in which makes me smile.
After adjustments, I now have two pair of the MN 16. Since this late Spring, the daily driver and a fat ski encountered no issues with pre-release or the toe AFD.

Apologies if this has already been covered ad nauseam, but will a 90mm brake fit on a 100 mm ski without a ton of bending? Lots of deals to be had on 90mm brakes right now. Not sure if these are like pivot brakes or not. Thanks!

catch your pant cuffs? go bigger.
there’s a lot of plastic you can grind off if needed. i always go 5-10mm narrower than the ski with little to no grinding. granted my skis are long, straight and my boots are relatively small so as always YMMV
