+++++vibes++++ at least it is the end of the season. I had a similar injury and was good to go in less than 6 months. Perfect timing for a fall 07 return. Dive into rehab with the same ambition you have for skiing and you'll be back.
Heal well, Ms6.
The world needs more women who ski like you.
reallly really really glad to hear that things went well. here's to a good recovery and slaying that chute next season!
Would love to see the pre and post-op rads. Good to hear all is well.
Not much to add, but more +++++++++vibes+++++++++ for the rehab effort that now lies ahead. Stick with it and you'll be back, better than ever.
And yes, console yourself in the fact that it appears to be a short season out west here this year. You got the last of the good stuff..
Checking in from the French Alps - best wished to Mrs 666. Hope she fixes up propah smaht.

Best of luck with the rehab, Mrs 666. Hang in there!

Speedy recovery! +++++++Vibes++++++
I'm so sorry to hear of your injury, Mrs 666! :( I've been there - I broke (well, "pulverized" as my ortho said) my ankle in 2001 and now I'm back to being nearly as good as gold. I'll have to read this thread to find out your details of your injury, but if you have pins in like I do, it'll get stiff sometimes but you'll be perfectly fine. Good luck and heal up!! I still don't know how exactly you broke your ankle in a ski boot.....now that's talent. ;)
Update:
Surgery went very well, she's been in pain, tons of hardware inserted, been up on crutches and walker, but feeling better.
Surgeon (Southard) came in and showed me the super gnar scars. They had to take a bonegraft below her knee to add to the ankle area. It will be a long recovery but he thinks that running will be the biggest hurdle or non-activity.
Mr. 666 has been a tremendous nurse, from Jamba Juice runs, to Frappachino light madness, then pillow fluffing, he's on track to becoming a world class husband. :fm:
....will be released today. :D
Well, the Mr. of course...
He likes to write about himself. :)
I can't wait to see the TR pics of Mr.666 in a nurse's outfit!
Great news. I have a spare shower chair at home from my broken hip injury. You are welcome to it if you need. Just PM me on where to deliver it. Oh, I also have a very cool gizmo for keeping the lower leg dry in the shower. That one is left over from my torn achilles. Its called a DryCast. It may be too big for her, but she's welcome to try it if she wants.
damn, Casey, just read all this (been off-line for days). I am so sorry to hear about Mrs 666, but sounds like all is well now (as good as can be).
I will be in SF on Sat for an ultimate tourney and then beers @ Zeitgeist. If ya'll need anything, PM and can drop stuff off, etc if needed.
Positive vibes for a speedy recovery! And props to Mrs 666 on slaying that burly line beofre the spill :yourock:
Real glad to hear the surgery went well.
Looking forward, Halle should prolly stay away from caffeine to help speed her recovery :nonono2:
At least I think I read that on here. Calcium is needed by the body, etc.
And plenty of live yogurt, no liquor, but red wine's ok
Might be time to try a selection of herbal teas, hmn ?
guess it's turning out best as could be expected. props on the new nurse position 666. assuming you attack it like you do those TRs the Mrs should end up stronger, faster, and better than she was before.
Wow! This from the purveyer of all things caffeinated:
http://www.peets.com/images/logo_only.gif Yummm.
Yogurt, tea, blueberry overdosage, and red wine have and are being consumed in a normal living room while watching the Kmart purchase of the day...Borat. :fm:
Glad you're home and done with hospital food!
Just saw this. Best wishes to you and the mrs.
Here's to a speedy recovery. If you need anything let me know.

Get well soon !
EXACTLY, A ski boot is like a cast which should protect ankles.
I also can't figure out why my fibula bone broke an inch above the
ankle 6 weeks ago.

i'm sitting next to the devil's wife right now.
she's in a recliner enjoying the show on mtv about 16 year olds and over the top parties for them.
she's enjoying it.
Remember, kids: You can't spell "meds" without "mmmmmmm...."
Just wanted to say that although I have never made the acquaintaince of the 666's, I have always admired their good style and panache. Heal up quickly, sister.
Positive thoughts and vibes to heal well and heal quick.
Yikes... that IS gnar. My talus was broken into a handful of pieces but went back together pretty well with screws. My ortho gave me the same news about running. I asked him when I could start again. He said "never". That's just ortho-talk though. :)
More wishes for a smooth recovery.
