If I remember correctly, it’s been awhile, but there was a telemarker dude who came out west with his family, maybe to start a family, that went through a similar decision and had a similar thread going for awhile. For the life of me, I can’t find it via the search function though. I think the guy went by rontele or something similar. I know the guy landed out west and was having a good time last I heard. Maybe try messaging him. I also know current days are different but that guy seemed pretty insightful and wanted to share the lessons he learned so maybe some of his doctrine holds true today. Documented the whole migration-pics of him skiing, his new bikes, I think he posted some pics of his wife smiling from the great joy Ullr brought her at one point in that old thread. In fact, I bet if you posted pics of you possibly and your wife, the crew around here could catch your vibe and narrow the hunt.

I live close to Snyder (other side of the river canyon). He actually had to dig in more than once. The original place was heading towards a guru/cult status due to the aspirations of one of his property co-owners and he pulled stakes and reposition himself in a different place on the same ridge area.

Confirmed. As low key as they get and too far from anything to ever get that crowded. No grooming means no families and not a ton of jongs. Short season though.

Honestly, butte seems like it would be pretty nice. Good mtb, disco, maverick, bridger, lost trail. Some big mountains for a little bc. Georgetown lake and the pintlers... Not sure about the cancer though. I want a house on georgetown lake.
