My disclaimer...I don't think I have any authority on any of these thoughts...but, you asked for some feedback...and I think it would be good to get some feedback from at least a few. I think there is some validity to your thought above...and earlier in the thread, Hurricane spoke to that issue. Another aspect is the community aspect (and I'm not implying I'm the consummate community-contributor here)...we've seen this come up in Gear Swap before. The lurker "comes out" to snipe a good deal, so I know some sellers have said they won't sell to the total newb...granted, that's a little different situation...but if there is some "number" in this group buy where the cost effiency changes, maybe it is a valid consideration from that point. Marshal's sticky states something about not just jumping into gear swap, but something to the effect of being apart of the community for awhile, then get involved in gear swap...and granted, I think he meant that more for those looking to unload their gear. In my own opinion, it does seem a bit lame for someone to come out of the woodwork just to get in on this...and then most likely, we'll never hear from them again (why would we, if we didn't hear from them before the group buy?) Those are some thoughts...again, I don't think I'm the authority on any of this...Quote:
