    AT Binding group buy

Edited to say:The buy I organized is done. There are other groups getting together, seek and you shall find.
Watching how rando bindings get snapped up around here I figure there might be some interest in this.

I have been sending emails back and forth with these guys:
    http://82.165.27.87/schindele/catalo...318758abcccd35
and the best they could do is a 10% discount if we order 10 pairs of bindings. However we also save on shipping, since the cost is the same (60 Euro) when we buy one or ten pairs. I ran the numbers and the expected price on the most popular bindings are below.

If you want a different binding check out the link above. With the discount, VAT, and the conversion rate, the price shipped to me in USD works out to be almost identical to the starting price in Euro.

    Some notes on the above:
I used the conversion rate found at xe.org, this can change and change the price of your bindings.
I assumed $15 dollars to reship from me to you, depending on your location this could be more or less. I am in Utah county for shipping estimates or pickup purposes.
I am going to pull the trigger as soon as the order totals ten pair of bindings (with me and pow4brains I think we already have three). Final price might be different than what we expect if we get slapped with a exchange rate change, a tariff, or something.

I think the process will go like this:
    1) Everyone interested send me a pm with what you want, an email address where I can get a relatively quick response, and an address if you want your order shipped.
    2) Once we get a group together I will confirm with everyone.
    3) I place order. I have a German speaker handy so I will confirm everything on the phone.
    4) Once I know exact cost from my credit card and shipping estimates I will send out emails.
    5) I send bindings to you once I get them, and get paid. You can do payment by cashiers check, personal check (once its cleared), or paypal. If you do paypal be kind and include the 2.9% fee I will get charged since it will add up on this order.

I forgot to ask schindele how long shipping would take but I imagine you will have your bindings a few weeks after we place the order. I will send another email and post an update.
One more thing, if my JONG status, and the money involved makes anyone uncomfortable I would happily turn the reigns over to a maggot, just let me know.

    NOt sure what.
It's never a bad idea to carry an extra set of binders in the backcountry.

Wow that was fast. Everyone who has already sent me a pm is definitely in. I will send an email to see what happens to shipping if we buy more than ten, and maybe open it back up, but for now we have the group we need.

    Edited for clarity.

It would appear there is a demand for a bigger buy. I would be in for a pair as well. Is it worth haggling for a better discount if you get 20 pairs? Let us know if this opens back up.

Wide brake options available on the Freeride/ Freeride +, and NX 21?

I have an email in asking about shipping or a bigger discount if we expand our buy to 15 or 20 pairs. If the deal gets sweeter than I will open it back up.
I don't think I will go much beyond 20 just because I don't want to spend a whole weekend sending 45 packages around the country.

Also for those that asked on the dynafits I am asking if the "TLT" that they list is the comfort version. I will let you know what I find out.

I also asked on wide brakes and their response was a little bit vague but it felt like they don't have that option. That is also in my latest email.
Now watch me become what I can become.

Judging by the pic it's the TLT classic. I have those and they work fine. Shorter pins and a different style climbing post.

    hey powdercow,
schindele is a 20min drive from my place. let me know if you need any help, i could call them and maybe even go there if necessary (if i have time).
be careful, at least one of the clerks there doesn't know too much about wide skis, brakes and the like. make sure you double check on that just to make sure.

I'm interested but am located in Vancouver.

Would you be willing to ship up here?

Perhaps some other locals are interested and we could mass ship a few pairs up here.

As things sit right now we are looking at over twenty pairs of bindings. There is no way I can handle more than this so I guess this means the deal is closed. The following people are on the "ten binding” list and looking good.

    soul_skier
    ashland
    dapig
    pechelman
    elchupanebre4
    norcascader
    ski_faster
    pow4brains

Everyone else who has sent me a pm is on the expanded list. I will do my best to make it work, but I think the worst case scenario is I put you all in contact with each other and a second buy goes down.
I think the guy I was emailing finally went to bed so I might not be able to answer the questions till tomorrow. Unless something goes wrong I hope to call in the order early Thursday morning so watch for an email.

One more note is I am not positive if the bindings come with any brake. I will let you know as soon as I find out. If this kills the deal for anyone just let me know.
Now watch me become what I can become.

That`s a good deal on TLTs. Do you know if they have the open-style climbing post, I saw some changes to this last spring? Backcountry.com had TLTs for $225 on closeout last March, so I don`t think they`ll be had for less.

Yeah, at first I was getting some fairly ambiguous answers but I got passed off to someone who seems more knowledgable and speaks english fairly well.
It would actually be awesome if after I place the order I could email you all the specifics and you could check to make sure they get the order right. PM me your info.

Damn, looks like I missed out. I'd be in for another group buy or if you expand the first order.

Slept in too late this morning

I'd also be in for an NX21 and a freeride plus if a second group buy gets started.

Usually Freerides and such come with the standard brakes (good for 85mm waist or so) and you have to buy the large ones for extra $$$...
