You'll have to take my word for it but these are tundra swans on Donner Lake. We see them about every other year, early winter, and they only stay a couple of days. They sound a little like loons and look like ordinary swans but with black faces. They never get close enough for a good picture with the little point and shoot I have.

I don't think I'd ever seen a badger in the wild before, but from what I hear they are fairly common in that area.
Throw a bucket on top of it, then grab it by the scruff ..... apparently they like that.
Tundra swans winter over on the lake that I grew up on in western WA. My mom helps the Fish and Game guy do counts. They’ve had as many as 1200 in the lake. I’ll have to dig up some videoQuote:
