I think crows are older than even a really old goat.

Deer are so common here that I don’t take pics of them, but this two-tone mule deer has been around here since she was a fawn last year. She brought her fawn by.

Typo I meant 15th

Cracking me up.
I saw this typo today looking up a location for a restaurant, and it said “across from the Cheveron”.
I was like WTF, dumbasses.
So for kicks I looked up the spelling and it’s from the Anglo-Norman era. I mean I guess they wanted some history cred because it’s a fairly new restaurant, and I guess they thought “You know, we’re just gonna skip Anglo-Saxon and go right on back to Anglo-Norman.”

You'll have to take my word for it but these are tundra swans on Donner Lake. We see them about every other year, early winter, and they only stay a couple of days. They sound a little like loons and look like ordinary swans but with black faces. They never get close enough for a good picture with the little point and shoot I have.

oh boy!
you should post those on FB on the Crap Wildlife Photography Page
I would if I had an account.
Here, pretend this is my picture.

They're even facing the same direction mine were.

There was that wolf that was going after that woman cyclist in YNP. One of our crew was the guy that rescued her. It was a weird story and not typical behavior, especially from park wolves. Good thing I wasn't the rescuer because I would have shot it and that would have opened a giant can of worms.
Jesus, again, everyone is entitled to their own fears, and I’m not even saying you’re wrong, but I’ve walked, skied and biked around literally dozens and dozens (hundreds) of momma and bull moose to continue my day. If I see a momma grizz up the trail? I’m going home, day over.
Absolutely! No way I’m sticking around the same neighborhood with a momma griz. Moose, I seen them every day damn near all summer, give them a respectful distance and have never had an issue.

That's great. Put one of those under the hood of your truck and you won't have to worry about the rodents chewing the wires.
Cool vid. Amazing that can make the grab under the snow like that!
Very, very cool vid. I have one of a coyote and another of a fox from ages ago. Our dogs do it too. Still, a pine marten? Wow.

Authorities are investigating whether the turkey that was killed was once pardoned by Obama. Is this another example of the harm done by Democrats being soft on crime? Just asking.
I forgot about this one I saw during my Grand Teton trip last month. I expected to see moose, bear, elk, pronghorns, but have to say this wasn't on my radar:

I don't think I'd ever seen a badger in the wild before, but from what I hear they are fairly common in that area.
Throw a bucket on top of it, then grab it by the scruff ..... apparently they like that.
Tundra swans winter over on the lake that I grew up on in western WA. My mom helps the Fish and Game guy do counts. They’ve had as many as 1200 in the lake. I’ll have to dig up some video

@kokomas that was definitely a show.
That reminded me of the quick video I was able to get of a pine marten. Was having a great solo bc day and on the last run spotted something bounding through the evergreens towards me.

They're down here in the valley, in the rice fields, along with snow geese.
Highway 99 north of Sac is pretty spectacular this time of year.
Seen him three times now. It is so quick and twitchy. Surprising all our chuckling behind the window didn't hurt his ears. He got 4 voles while we were watching and seemed to be hiding them around the yard. Then he hucked our hot tub to flat and was off:

That’s awesome!
Haven't seen a rack like that since Misty Cannons was at the Bada Bing in Lodi.
Saw this flock of desert bighorn sheep enjoying some water and grass today.
