Nah. Not discerning. They just want to eat us.

Like sharks in Wall Street. Kitties always be closing when it comes to their human pets.
Neighbour cat is playing us hard to adopt him. He’s got access to indoor space and passable food with his current family, but he’s gotten the odd raw red meat and fish scraps that our kitty turned her nose up when it was rejected on the back porch. And we give better affection rubs I think. If he wasn’t long-haired we might take him on, but wife says no way with our dark furniture.
He gets along with our kitty fine enough, but for some reason I get the impression she flaunts her privileges a bit. Spoiled brat she is.
In addition to the Uproot, Fur Daddy is great. I like it for more delicate surfaces. Available at Wal-mart, Amazon, etc.

Chip controlled cat door works really well. Keeps the interlopers out.
Ha! How quick you guys are to bow to kitty wishes to choose their own domicile, their owner’s wishes be dammed (but yes, you may have read posts I’ve made of my neighbours - so ya, kitty recognizes a significant difference in opportunity) This more than anything defines cats vs dogs I think. It’s been an interesting journey with having our first (house) kitty.
We’ll see how this fall into winter goes. If instances of neglect with the onset of colder weather happens, we’ll take Bob in.
Outdoor (used to be feral, but…) cats swarming breakfast.

Omg. Kitteh on the left just needs a beret to go with the moustache and goatee. Hip cat.
So, TWIS (The Woman I’m Seeing) stayed over the other night and the next day when she got home she texted me this picture and message:

This building on my brothers farm near Macon GA is where it all started 10 years ago. My SIL was feeding her horses and saw some movement behind some hay bales. It was a tiny, malnourished 2 month old kitten who my Mom would later name GG, short for Georgie Girl like the 1960s song.

I am farm-sitting for several weeks while my brother and his wife travel. Part of my job duties include taking care of GGs arch-nemesis KitKat. These two cats do not get along well, lots of growling and hissing. No actual fighting though.
Pic of KitKat:
note one of KQ’s skittle bugz over by the table.

Old kitteh is in the kitteh-hospital with dehydration and pancreatitis. Hoping he can come home later this afternoon.
