LLS - what you have there is commonly known as a Bi-color cat.

But more specifically it is a 'Piebald' version with a further designation as a 'Cap and Mantle' type.

The white is a secondary color that genetically spreads to a certain percentage of the body.

The primary, dark areas appear to be of the Mackerel tabby pattern with white intrusions.

The Cap is the bit on the head, but not masking the eyes. The Mantle is the dark cape covering the back.

    Very nice.

We hosted a birthday party for a bunch of 7 year olds over the weekend. The tabby twins holed up here for about 6 hours. They're definitely kin.

    GG knows something is up.

She is correct. My brother’s kitty, GG’s arch-nemesis Kit Kat, is coming for a two week visit. ETA 15 minutes.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

hidey always rips their little faces off first so the mouse can watch itself being eaten... she doesn't have to do that, but she does it anyway. as a courtesy.

Charlie likes to sunbathe/hide in the dead hops on our porch.

Also thanks djongo on the education of kitty breeds. I'm a Jong and just know I love the joy animals bring me.

Review for a couple of cat related products:

    Pooph Kitty Litter Box Deodorizer

Seems to work as advertised. To test just how well it works I applied it to old but cleaned litter (had not washed the boxes either). I use "World's best litter" without added scent/odor fighters and my boxes are high sided extra large being used by 3 cats. I didn't notice a smell to the product but cats sniffed it a bit (was a bit worried it might deter them from using the box but luckily it has not). Been applying it to the litter and around the sides of the boxes everytime I scoop. I give it a solid thumbs up.

Uproot Cleaner Pro Pet Hair Remover

This thing is the bomb for getting up pet hair! I have area rugs in my kitchen/dining area that are low pile synthetic. They grab onto pet hair like a magnet that even my Kirby can't get up. I do have to get on my hands and knees to use this but it's quick and the amount of hair it gets up is insane. I've also used it on pet beds and fleece throws. Great for carpeted stairs too. I started with this small hand held one because some of the reviews of the long handled one where less than positive but I might try another model now that I know how good this one works.

I bought both items from Amazon.

Despite Ugly's antisocial behavior we get visited quite often by kitties from the neighborhood. Lately a trio of them have started showing up more frequently and camping around the house. One of them is super social and will walk right into the house if you open the door for him. I've heard the cat door open at night, quickly followed by some hissing and fighting as Ugly wakes up and goes on the attack to defend his turf.
The cats look reasonably healthy and well fed but it's a bit odd to suddenly have them break into the house so yesterday I picked up the social one to check his collar. Millo apparently belongs to a lady who doesn't really take care of him and his 2 bros. Another neighbor recently trapped one of the trio who was invading her house, took him to the vet when she realized he wasn't in great shape, and had a full dental workup done so kitty could eat properly. That lady has now moved and the kitties are in search of a new home since their actual "owner" doesn't give a shit. Looks like they picked Ms Boissal and I, they must have realized we recently went from 4 cats to 1 cat and we're in need of more feline companionship.

Oh well, can't argue with cats, guess Ugly is going to have to get used to not being a solo kitty again

Millo looks a lot like the recently departed Hobbes if she had been wearing white socks. The one with the teeth problems is a small tabby, hilariously cross-eyed, and the 3rd kitty appears to be entirely black with green eyes. I need to confirmed that he doesn't have a tiny white spot somewhere (angel kiss? domeone upthread had the name for that), he's quite shy but a real looker.

I mentioned earlier that my wife and I moved last year. The houses are on small lots and so we each get a side yard. Our next door neighbor has an adorable outside cat. We became fast friends. Last year she kept begging to come inside, so we let her. She pops up in the window and meows until we let her in. She’s been spending a lot of time at our house lately. The neighbors asked us today if we would adopt her, so I guess we have a new cat. I’ll post photos later.

What Is The 'Cat Distribution System?'

The Cat Distribution System is a phrase used to describe the seemingly common occurrence of cats entering people's homes and lives unannounced and inadvertently. The concept revolves around the idea that owners do not choose their cats — instead, cats choose their owners.

This happens when a stray cat or kitten is friendly and walks up to a person outside in the real world. Thus, at that moment, the spiritual-like Cat Distribution System has come to fruition.

I buy it. Some cats are content where they are, especially if you adopt them as kittens. But others will be out and about until they find the optimal living situation. Being chosen by a cat is an honor, they've very discerning creatures
