His point is that they've been the biggest choke artists in recent Cup history. They will be again.
I suprised nobody has said a thing about San Jose or Nashville they sleepers that cause damage. Both 4/5 series (Pens/Sens & Sharks/Preds) could go seven games. The Rangers could pull out a first round upset, I say COULD pending thier older players don't get hurt. Tampa Bay & Jersey could be interesting but Trampa (yes, I said Trampa) Bay has problem in Goal. The Lightning need to get Jaroslav Halak form the the Habs or one of the three good goalies (Manny Fernandez, suprise rookie Josh Harding & and the other more tested rookie Nik Backstrom)from Minnesota this off-season, I don't see them beating NJ as much as I HATE the devils.
It blows me away how the bottoms teams on the NBA playoffs are pathetic and the teams in the cup playoffs can steal a series, I loved it when the oilers went to to the finals last years as the #8 seed, and the Ducks got to the conference finals as the #7 seed.
It is too hard to pick a clear cut winner, this gonna be a fun playoffs to watch, hopefully the Wings get knocked out again by an #8 seed again:D :D Go Flames:FIREdevil.
LETS GO PENS! LETS GO PENS!LETS GO PENS!
I'll be at Mellon Arena Sunday shouting obscenities and watching the Pens take out six years of frustration on the Politicians!
Nashville is dangerous, but has A LOT of key injuries to overcome.
Action starts tonite! WOOOOOOOO!
Dallas Stars visiting GM Place tonight to open the series against Vancouver. Victory #1 for Bobby Lu and the rest of the Canucks coming right up, with only 3 more losses to go for Victim #1.
Dude, PA Sucks.
ha ha. get it??
San Jose and Nashville - - San Jose can't do it. Why? Because the team only goes as Thorton does and he doesn't have the ability to put it into playoff mode. Great player, but no playoff gene.
Nashville - - could be a good sleeper (if you could call a team that was first in the league for most of the season a sleeper). If Forsberg is not a distraction (he either has to be "in" or "out" - - - not on a game-by-game basis), they'll be tough to beat.
Ottawa has a lot to prove, the Penguins do not. I think I'm taking the Sens in 6 for that one.

Hopefully we can get it together and take the wings out first round and eventually get this:

And then maybe some of this:

go sharks
Sabres - Ducks finals.
Don't really care who wins.
Patiently waiting for the Leafs to make a run ( or get into the playoffs for that matter). I was four, last time they won the cup.:cussing:
That Crosby no-goal was BS. That game went from interesting to not awfully fast.
I can't tell if it was just the Penguins playing incredibly poorly and sloppy, or if the Senators just played that well.
Since the Canes stunk it up this year....
GO ANYONE PLAYING AGAINST BUFFALO!!!
SJ v. Nashville may just live up to the hype. Overtime baby!
Of course, I have Cheechoo in my pool:mad:
The Senators know they are the biggest chokers in the NHLand they know it, they came out to play, they have had a bunch of playoff letdowns, they could be a playoff sleeper, but they still are the Sens and for them to make the finals, I'll believe it when I see it.
With the Bruins sucking so badly and as an Austrian I just have to go with the Sabres this year. On the other hand, if the Sabres and Rangers lose in the first round Austria gets both Vanek and Pöck for the World Championships ...
just got back from my own game and there's still a game on. Wooo! Go Canucks!
The highlights from that Sharks-Preds game were awesome! Great save by Vocoun (yeah, can't spell that for my life) and great OT winner.
i heart hockey!
So what is the over under of the Stars/Canucks beating the Pens/Flyers game. Wasn't that like 6 OT's.
I have a feeling this game might finally end some time in the next 20 minutes, but it would be even more fun if it didn't.

I probably just jinxed it, oh well.
66 shots on Luongo, welcome to the playoffs. Probably very reminiscent of playing 60 minutes in Florida.
Lame, I just realized why it would have been great for Dallas to win. A lot of Vancouver fans would have spent 6 hours for nothing and gone home unhappy.
Oh well, playoff hockey kicks ass.
Ugh, I only made it thru the first overtime before I crashed and fell asleep.
And I am way tired this morning.
Oh it's on. Only one blowout so far (Pittsburgh can suck my sore nuts) and 3 other fantastic games. Can't wait for tonight.
made it through the 4 OT's. Was just a matter of time until the Sedins got going again, seeing how they had not done much for 5 periods. Bobby Lu was awesome! Wonder if the 76 shots on goal was anywhere near a record? Probably not, but still an amazing display of goaltending. A good win for the Canucks as they were completely outplayed from halfway through the first period until the 2nd OT. As for your comments about Vancouver Singel, I hope the Flames are extinguished in 4! Probably not with Kipper to help them, but good luck against the Red Wings.
I rocked all of 3 1/2 hours of sleep.
Had an 11 PM game of my own... ends at midnight (add 10 minutes for de-gearing).... 40 mile drive... home at 1 AM... shower... sitting up wired until 2 AM.... go to bed... staring at the ceiling for another 30 minutes unable to sleep... wake up at 6 AM to get into work for my 8 AM meeting.
road trip = fully caffeinated yet quite sleepy right now. Ugh.
That said, I'll snap out of it on my way to the Devils' game tonight. :FIREdevil
McGeough!!!:cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
For Fucks sake can somebody fire this moron already. I generally don't pay much attention to officiating but I did notice a distinct correlation between McGeough and stupidity every time I watched him ref this year.
Just the fact that there is a refferee named McCoo is awesome. It's just too bad he actually does suck as bad as his name suggests. :nonono2:
Paging Singel.... Flames down 4-0 after 2, and coming out in the 3rd with a man in the penalty box. Not looking too good Cowtown! I might go back with my original prediction of 4 straight
:nonono2: Disappointing. Oh well, I think that as with Pittsburgh getting blown out may help us get our shit together for game 2. We're probably in better shape than if we had lost 5-4 in 7 periods...
Obviously the refs didn't have anything to do with this loss, but I find any game involving McEww is simply not fun to watch. The calls always come from 100 feet behind the play (when there is another ref 15 feet away) and disrupts the overall flow of the game, and the players don't know what they can/cannot do.
Here's to hoping for no more McGoatfucker the rest of the series. GO FLAMES!
Welcome back Tim Connolly.
Sabres are completely controlling the pace of thew game, and the last few minutes of the period seemed like the Islanders were giving up sort of.
This series just began. Not sure why they felt the need to crash kipper (yes he was out of the crease, but Cleary clearly turned into him, rather than out) with 1 minute left in a 4-1 game. Just wish we still had Oliwa, or Godard in the lineup. Hopefully somebody goes and gets to know Mr. Hasek a little better soon:the_finge
