I dont care who wins, unless its the Islanders. I dont like Wrong Island and I dont like the Islanders. Obviously the B's are golfing, but at least the Habs are too. I guess Im rooting for the Sharks, still a Thornton fan

Actually, I just hope the stupid NY/NJ media notices that all three local teams are in the playoffs.

Pens-Sens should be a kick-ass series. Rangers-Thrashers should be fun to watch as well...

But my money (and heart) are protected by this man:

I hate the Devils with the passion otherwise reserved for Duke and Dallas, but Marty B. has been unconscious this year and that deserves respect.

That said I'm an Avs fan, so will be rooting for Peter the Great and the Predators. However, the Hockey fan in me would still do a little dance to see the Rangers beat the Wings in the Cup Finals.

I actually hope the Red Wings can make it out of the first round this year. But with Zetterberg injured and Kronwall out, I am pessimistic. We constantly underachieve, but hopefully BabCOCK can get some more out of the boys this year.

    Lets go Red Wings!

The Devils are the only team that has legions of haters around the country, but no fans to compensate. The Red Wings are like the Yankees or the Cowboys... plenty of haters, but an equal number of fans. The Devils? All haters. I'd love to hear from somebody, somewhere that the Devils are an adopted favorite. Winnipeg? Montreal's second favorite team? Maybe back when Neidermeyer (sp) was there, BC was a fan? Ida know... I do know that when the Devils lost to the Ave's in 2001, the entire country was rooting against the Devils. Bitches. We'll get 'em back this year!

(and I'll have my Sweden Forsberg jersey on while watching Western Conference games on my Center Ice Package!)

+1, good call. Although a lifelong and determined Wings fan, I think fckn Hasek is gonna blow it. We should have taken the cash we're paying for him and gotten two young strong goalies and kept Osgood as #1. But, GO WINGS!!!!!
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown

Yeah, but you pretty much need to be dead not to play in the playoffs. The question is how healthy is he?

There is good reason the Devils are so hated. They have a very boring style of hockey.

    Successful? Effective? Yes.
Difficult to watch? At times, yes.

All aside though. Brodeur is an animal in the post-season.

People have been saying that for years. This year? Without doubt, they've been quite drab... but even in 1999-2002, when they were one of the highest scoring teams in the league (seriously, look at the stats, they led the league in goals in 2001), people were still saying that.

It's just a deep-rooted hatred of all those cups coming to Jersey!!

Let's see, which teams have been the biggest disappointment in playoff's past?? Detroit and Ottawa. Hmmm... who do we count out first this year??

His point is that they've been the biggest choke artists in recent Cup history. They will be again.

I suprised nobody has said a thing about San Jose or Nashville they sleepers that cause damage. Both 4/5 series (Pens/Sens & Sharks/Preds) could go seven games. The Rangers could pull out a first round upset, I say COULD pending thier older players don't get hurt. Tampa Bay & Jersey could be interesting but Trampa (yes, I said Trampa) Bay has problem in Goal. The Lightning need to get Jaroslav Halak form the the Habs or one of the three good goalies (Manny Fernandez, suprise rookie Josh Harding & and the other more tested rookie Nik Backstrom)from Minnesota this off-season, I don't see them beating NJ as much as I HATE the devils.

It blows me away how the bottoms teams on the NBA playoffs are pathetic and the teams in the cup playoffs can steal a series, I loved it when the oilers went to to the finals last years as the #8 seed, and the Ducks got to the conference finals as the #7 seed.

It is too hard to pick a clear cut winner, this gonna be a fun playoffs to watch, hopefully the Wings get knocked out again by an #8 seed again Go Flames.

Dallas Stars visiting GM Place tonight to open the series against Vancouver. Victory #1 for Bobby Lu and the rest of the Canucks coming right up, with only 3 more losses to go for Victim #1.

+1 for the Senators. They have choked in the past but this year's team has the makings of going deep, no more soft players on the roster...
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

    Dude, PA Sucks.

    ha ha. get it??

San Jose and Nashville - - San Jose can't do it. Why? Because the team only goes as Thorton does and he doesn't have the ability to put it into playoff mode. Great player, but no playoff gene.

Nashville - - could be a good sleeper (if you could call a team that was first in the league for most of the season a sleeper). If Forsberg is not a distraction (he either has to be "in" or "out" - - - not on a game-by-game basis), they'll be tough to beat.

Ottawa has a lot to prove, the Penguins do not. I think I'm taking the Sens in 6 for that one.

Hopefully we can get it together and take the wings out first round and eventually get this:

And then maybe some of this:
