nice opening of the season gong show story. sorry it was an expensive one for ya and i'll bet those skiis will turn up. i'll keep an eye out for em.
Thanks for your consideration maggots. I really dig this here website. I still haven't managed to call duder on his shit, but I have a feeling the skis will come back to me. I haven't had time to do much investigating since Monday, but I surely appreciate all of your tips. Even if they don't turn up, Santa is coming soon.... I do have a pair of Commis on order, but I wasn't planning on making them my backcountry boards. Come on cold front. My jones is insatiable.
Little Ak was sweet on Monday, light waist deep pow, not sure now though with the rain.
Hey, thanks for that idea. I really have to figure out what I'm going to say to him before I phone so that he isn't instantly on the defensive. I do have to accept some of the responsibility. I've been a bit manic and not getting enough sleep, combined with endless safety meetings. I probably would have double and triple checked it were I in my right mind. On the other hand, there is no way in hell that I would leave anyone's gear in the rack without shutting it if I were the last one tinkering with said rack.
I must pull my string out and not be concerned about rocking the boat. I just want everyone to be happy, which is an impossibility in many situations.
The driver, even when stoned, is in charge of the car and all stuff strapped to it. Leaving it to some dude to button things up showed stupidity. Now you are gonna leave it up to him to recover it? I guess we know why you were sitting on your ass while your dude was messing with the rack. You're effin lazy!
:the_finge
I am in fact quite lazy. I think later in the spread I went on to say that I wasn't in my right mind due to lack of sleep and endless safety meetings. Were I myself a bit more stable I would have double checked the rack more than just looking at it through the sun roof. I never claimed he was fully responsible, but there's no doubt in my mind that he is somewhat responsible. I treat people the way I want to be treated, and I wouldn't forget that my buddies boards were unsecure in his rack for a 30 minute drive if I were the last one tinkering with the rack. I guess maybe I should swith the rack opening to my side of the car. Most of my friends. however are pretty f'n solid. Unlike this cat that I will never go in the backcountry with.
Oh, and speaking of back country responsibility, how is Loki? They don't teach you in those safety classes that dogs can't ski or fly down rock hard north facing chutes, because it sounds like that would have been his only escape from his idiodic owner sending him down it to his doom. Poor pupper. Maybe I will clear things up a little bit for the viewers. You're a moron. Who puts there skis in a ski bag in thier ski rack? At first glance it looked like this ski bag was a pemanent fixture in your ski rack, so I figured since the rack was open when I got there, you had some other skies you were bringing. When I took my skis out, that was your que to close the rack, not show me how to place my sticks into a condom, they taught us how to do that in sex-ed. I was ready so I got in the car while you were still dicking around outside your car, with your open ski rack on it, with your skis in it. Also, when someone driving behind you is riding your ass and flashing their lights, that means pull over. And lets not for get that after the couple informed you that you skis were on the side of the road, you proceeded to go into you condo to rub one out I guess. I don't feel the least bit responsible for your stupidity, no. That was your parents doing. So eat a dick
what happened to the dog??:frown:
I think I'll use this thread for its original purpose. Went up to do a little solo mission on Carson today (Sunday). The corn was money. Snow pack is better consolidated than I expected too. Only got a little mushy right near the top on slopes exposed to the sun since early morning. Even at 12:30 stuff in the shade near the road was still pretty firm. Went lookers left of Round Top into the cool hanging cirque there.
The route in red.

Yes, I'm going to go ahead and Jong it right up and bring my favorite tread to the surface once again.
Went out to Round Top last weekend and noticed how good the snow was when I walked through the first patch and decided that I needed to attempt the Cresent Moon Chute. There Was Snow all the way down to Winamucka lake @ that point, but it's been warm this week.
So we get to work booting up the chute and we get to the point we set out for and come to a stop. After I stop, I get all funny feeling, like I just got punched in the balls or something, and then the sweats started.
Now I work in a hospital so I could go ask a Dr. But to tell the truth I'm sure I can get more feed back here from the experienced. I think It's altitude sickness. Maybe my body trying to adjust too quickly. It has been a while since I've been @ 10,000 ft. because no one wants to take me skiing for some reason:fuckyou: This is not the first time I've felt this way but I really don't like being on a ?degree slope inside a chute and feeling like this. I just had to breath heavy for like 2 min, and I was good. Sometimes I puke though.
Does anyone else deal w/ this or am I just a freak/pussy.
I've been to the highest point in the lower 48 and didn't get this though, And sometimes its on my way down somthing nar and I have to stop and boot.
Shit sux
Sounds like you were scared shitless.;)
While altitude sickness affects everyone differently, what you're describing doesn't sound like the examples I've been through and seen.Typically the first thing experienced is a headache. However, exertion also helps to bring on or exacerbate the symptoms, and booting up that col could be considered exertion, I guess.
While nausea is definitely associated with acute mountain sickness, it's not something i experience. My symptoms include headache, light-headedness, general malaise, inability to focus my eyes, everything becoming intensely bright, and the hudgely loud bass of my blood pumping through my carotid artery. YMMV.
yeah, you're just a freak pussy;) . but seriously i doubt it was altitude sickness if you live in tahoe at 6,000' + and were only at 10 k. i only notice altitude sickness above 12 k but everyones different. if you feel like you were punched in the nuts i'd guess its from having your nuts rubbed against your leg while skinning/booting. i occasionally get a discomfort there while skinng or booting but have never puked from it. laying off the ganga might help as well and it could also possibly be from dehydration from exercising heavily w/o adequate hydration. how was the skiing??? was the moon pretty smooth or was it in its usual runnelled june mess??
OK, Attention please....
I'll be skiing Moon Crescent/area tomorrow (Sunday June 17th) and am looking for last minute soldiers to meet me there. PM me if you are interested...I need to make a TR....badly. :(
much as i'd love to i don't think my knee's up for it so fathers day family climbing adventure at bottle creek crag is as far as i'm gonna push it. will be looking forward to seeing some pics though.
As much as I'd like to......
On a related note, why is it father's don't get to do what they want on Father's day?:(
