    Carson Pass conditions?

Kind of inbetween jobs this week and am thinking about getting out for a day or two this week. Since KW only has the lower mtn open, looking into any touring possibilities.

I didn't drive pass Carson Pass this weekend so am curious how the coverage looks? Enough coverage down low to skin? Thinking you'd have to get up high for anything good...but would just be happy to get out and explore a little.

    Any beta?

EDIT: oh and no, Squirrel99...I can't.

I don’t know about Carson, but Snoqualmie Pass is currently closed for avy control with more snow expected this week.

Anyway, I imagine the snow fields that lasted through the summer might have some good turns. Definitely a long walk, but closer than Washington. Maybe I’ll call our friend at Kirkwood and get some BETA for you, eh.

screw flying. Start driving North, pick up ralliers on your way. Either ptavv, girlski and/or natty should be easily conned into such a mission. It's only like what 13hrs? Nothin.

word from the sidelines is that there is enough snow to skin to and fro and there was semi-decent skiing 2 weeks ago on about 700' below the crescent. so, seeing as kwood got 1' out of this last storm i'd guess chances are quite good that you'd find some decent turns around roundtop or e-back. some other cat here posted a thread this am called enough base? or something like that where he said he was heading out to check it out today so hopefully he'll report back what he finds. prolly not great conditions, but surely worthy of a nice tour to get out and stretch the legs and wake up those hip flexors. lord knows i'd join ya if i could, though my criteria for decent skiing are condiserably lower then most.

I was looking at the areas of interest visible from the road yesterday. Roundtop looked the "best" but not good.

That said, it looked better than anything at the lake and if k-wood doesn't open anything else next weekend, I could be up for some rock hunting.

    Do it!

We are flying north this weekend, although Mrs. Comish still doesn't consider internet ski freaks as "friends" so she wasn't too excited about visiting the Rodent and therefore we are hitting Batchy.

Yeah, I tried the "You met Squirrel at Mammoth and a friend of Reale's is flying up" but she voted to visit "real friends" from college. I figured at least we are flying to real snow even if a bit flat...

    Have fun!

Can't believe that one didn't work.

Sounds like a similar situation at my house.

Yeah SLT maggots. I'm headed out to Roundtop in just a little bit. A late start but had errands to run. Tyrone, if you get this in time and you want to join us, there are currently three of us nutjobs and a couple of our dogs. I'm still a bit new to the site, so I'm not sure about this PMing thing.

Would two comp ski tickets assist in landing Mr. Shoelaces in WAaarshington this weekend? I'm sure Aegix could use some new photos of their new star in action

I'm hurt...and to think Greydon just went out and spent some coin on a good keg for the Mr. & Mrs. Clark housewarming party
I guess we'll just have to drink even more good beer this weekend!

at least Mrs. 666 knows not to let her husband pass up good beer. Speaking of hangovers, how did the family 666 manage on Sunday?

You make it a comp plane ticket, roundtrip transport from the airport, and a place to crash and Ill borrow Tyrones Aegix gear and pretend to be him.
