Next time you can pass over the soypoles at the swap and buy or trade for the (cheaper or same price, stiffer, lighter, less soy) straight slalom poles.

I was at Wolf Mountain saturday and sunday doing a little skier-X. Whilst waiting for my friend to meet at the bottom of the lift and I wearing a bib with a big USASA logo on it:

been moving my gear into my new office and my nice, yet still a gaper, officemate who doesn't like to ski (she snowshoes because it's more serene and peaceful) notices I have two pairs of skis and two snowboards...

Man gets off of Supreme lift at Alta: "Excuse me, could you tell me where the Supreme lift is?"
Me: "I'm sorry, we don't have a lift by that name. You must be thinking of some other mountain."

Man stares blankly, walks to photographer, asks same question, while I'm madly trying to signal her not to tell him.

I can one-up this one, but NSR. A friend of mine was up getting a Christmas tree a couple of years ago. Pulled over on what he thought was the shoulder but was actually just deep snow. His 4wd Nissan was stuck. Girl comes along in an 80's vintage Subaru and asks if he needs help. She grabs a tow strap out of her car, hooks it up, and yanks him out.

He's then behind her as they're driving up the road, and they see a guy in a big Dodge dually. Same thing, chica in a Subaru puts her tow strap on the Dodge one ton and yanks it out of the snow. Absolutely priceless.

While skiing BC near Silverton on Sunday.
Me: splitting my snowboard and applying skins for another lap down Minnehaha.

Some gnar hardcore extremeist on rented pontoons skiing guided at Silverton Mtn.: Are you skiing or snowboarding?

Me: Somewhere in the middle there Jim.

Riding big burn at snowmass, we spot a snowboarder out of control with terrible form through powder bumps. My snowboard instructor friend, trying to help the gaper, yells , "Lean back you idiot!!!" Right after he says this everyone on the lift sees that the snowboarder has a prosthetic back leg. At this point we all realize that he is actually core and my friend is the gaper.

Another day at Slowmass, a hot chick form somewhere down south on the VX says, "This sucks, there are so many lines on the trails," pointing to the corduroy under the lift.
