Way exceeded expectations. Tree softness right until closing bell.
Mango!
It’s been a good week at Mt Brokenchair - unless you want to ride NWX.
Or if you want ketchup
The struggle is real.

Made a few laps at hoodoo am,it's all I remember it was. Snow was soft if you could see it. I fit right in with the local talent. Carhartt ftw. Pro Donny P.Attachment 486501

Palmer was mostly amazing and mostly untracked on Saturday morning.
Tits^
Looking noice!
thurs seems to be looking interesting
they picked a bad year to introduce the snow stake...btw, what was the last day that cam existed at mhm?
Meadows skied nice today. Practically felt like I had the place to myself. Snow was ok, but that hard base is for real. The day definitely called for a narrower ski than I brought tho…
Crystal skied decent yesterday...3 inches definitely helped. Fueling up body and about to cross border and shred bunny hills at Cypress before heading over to Whistler. It will be interesting.
Meanwhile @ flachelor there were turns of lust. Pre-ordering Snowflakes.
What the? I just saw the Meadows forecast and I'm skiing Whistler the next 3 days with zero snow in sight. How did i miss this? ...I thouight I will be chasing powder this season and I'm chasing sun instead. f#$# Oh, well, ya'allhave a blast.

Dick move
Let’s go ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
Looks promising. Was out last week watching whales and turtles in Maui. Glad to be back. Tried not to look at snow reports or this website. I don't think snorkeling really counts as cross training for skiing. But some muscles that don't get exercised got a workout. So, I've got that going for me.
Came down pretty heavy all day. Hopefully it keeps going through tomorrow.
Some evidence the Little Boy is fading.

As She has been accused of saying: 7” was just right!
I need more days like this!
The snowfall seems to have slowed way down. Maybe late today will bring more for the folks wanting Friday turns
Just got back from a 10 day trip to Glacier, Whitefish, and Schweitzer just in time for a heavenly day at the home resort. Rolled off cascade just as the ropes dropped. Some shooting cracks here and there, but couldn't get anything to move. Somehow managed the high traverse to Clark with no shark encounters! The flat lighting made for an interesting drop in to the trench carved by the big avalanche that ran through Clark a few weeks back.

I'll be roadtripping solo through Bend next week. I haven't been to Bachelor for a few years. Would love to meet up for a few laps. probably Wed 2/17. - Tall old fart with bright green poles looking lost.
Today was Ikonic! @ Mt Brokenchair
What a shitshow driving up
Skated first thing to CCX. Snagged 2nd chair
The first three laps were bliss - snow was nice&light in the east.

It got crunchier as we moved west.
Most liftlines were virtually ski-on all AM, prolly because everyone was in line at Summit. I’m told a line started around 1000. This was taken ~1115, an hour before they put butts on chairs.

Hope it was worth the wait - Summit ran 100 min before shutting down for poor viz.
Three more Ikonic! days to go…
Did the avalanche run at the bottom of Sunrise Bowl. Me & the boy got first tracks in Sunrise. I was building up some speed to get through the dip above the roped off area when all of a sudden I was airborne. I was on my heels keeping my skinny skis up when I was kicked up, tips fly in the air, all my son saw was me disappear. I thought, huh, I'm flying, I hope it's soft, wow still flying I really hope it's soft. Land on my back in a soft poof. I saved the other 5 or 6 behind us from the same fate. That flat light made skiing by braille
I hopped on the chair after rolling into the parking lot at about 12:50pm. Saw what looked like non-patrol types skiing down the NE face and decided to check it out. Was about a 10 minute wait. Viz sucked. Snow was meh. A bit of light wind/temp effected. Was not worth it other than after about 4 months of skiing I can say I finally rode the Summit chair. So, I've got that going for me.
Seems like this holiday weekend is going to be crowded just based on the number of cars that were in the lots this afternoon.
Mid next week shall produce better results.
