Make it nice & shiny for when they drop by to pick it up! :p

Did you buy it at a gun shop, or was it a private sale and transfer? Ever post pictures of it online?
There's a reason I havn't posted pics of my gun quiver.
Love Kimbers, except for the fact that they say "Yonkers, NY" on the side. Kind of ironic.
I've never shot a kimber handgun I didn't love and may get one since they fit my big hands like a glove. But when it comes to their hunting rifles I've heard lots of horror stories about quality control. Some people love the rifles and other people have had the rifling totally screwed, mistapped scope mounts and barrels set off center. Have you ever heard those stories about the handguns?
If your are going to drop good money on a 1911, there are other places to look before Kimber...
Sure there are, this one works great for me. Load it with target reloads and it is just so dang much fun to shot a bunch. I was shooting a buddy's wildly custom ParaOrd 9 and it just didn't feel the same, nice gun but not me.

My 74 year old Mom shooting her Brownie 22. She's a tough prairie chick man.
Early Kimber 1911's were good. A group of second generation guns out of NY were crap, and they have improved quality in recent years.
Although I have never owned one, I would probably look hard at the Springfield line. Had a friend that really liked them. Good value and quality for the money. S&W is making one now as well, nice piece, but a little more money.
IF you want to get into some $$$ on a 1911, look at an Ed Brown or Wilson. STI makes a great gun as well. Check out www.dawsonprecision.com for a great STI shop.

This one is probably 6-7 years old, maybe more. There is a shop here in Wheat Ridge, GunSmoke cleverly enough, that I've dealt with a couple of times, bought a couple things from them, Rich the owner is a good guy. They did the trigger on my pdog gun and some other nerdy things and did real nice stuff. They make some powerfully swanky cool 1911's that I have the sweats for. Mo money.
Man - I wish I would have bought about 6 of those M70AB AK-47's last summer.
Custom Springfield M21 Talbot mounts, Shepherd scope Harris Bipod

AIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the post you quoted was more of a finance issue...would that have been a 200% return?
I spent half of last week trying to find .40 S&W in stock, finally found some yesterday. People are silly.
For once, Tipp, you're right. It isn't a penis issue. It's a money issue. I would be rolling in it if I'd have stocked up on AK's last summer. Or 7.62x39 ammo, for that matter. It's not that the shit's expensive - it's that you can't even find it.
Now - back to cramming more food down your piehole to fill the void of your empty exsistence.
I wonder what Gorgoroth thinks about GUNS!!!!?

I guess then Jer(k)'s assertation that your people had something to do with a bet is accurate then. I stand corrected, and apologize to Welsh people everywhere.
M21 has different barrel, upgraded action and trigger (what Springfield calls their "super match") different stock, etc.
M21 is pretty much a hand made gun, with the result being that it shoots sub MOA groups. It's one of the most accurate autoloaders you can buy.
(The bad news is that when you miss, you can't blame it on your gun.)
A friend of mine used this gun to put 7 of 10 rounds in the NRA seal (about the size of a nickle) at 200 yards shooting from the bipod.
Nothin' special but a start.....

Here are my pistols. I also have a Colt AR15 6920, a select fire IMI Micro Galil, and a 300 Win Mag built by Rogers Custom Guns. I don't actually own the Galil and the 300 Win Mag, I just have custody of them......

Gorgeous 1911's!
My brother in law just bought a .50 cal. semi-auto that has a range of 4 miles. I'll post pics of it here if I can figure out exactly the make and model. The thing is huge. Basically, it looks like this:

Also, I finally picked up a little something for the house: S&W MP40.
Ha ha. That would be fun one day to own a gun that you need your friends to help carry. Bet that's fun to shoot.
I'm currently building up a .308 rapid-fire long-range murder machine.
I'll post some pics when it's finished.
Hey - check this AK out: Devil Gun
Somebody linked to this from THR. It's got the usual THR tightly-clenched-butt-cheeks crowd over there all upset like usual. THR is like the bizzarro version of TGR.

How do you like this? I am thinking about picking one up for my first handgun for a graduation present for college for myself.
Also, what we played with this weekend.....

Save your coins, buy a real handgun that will function. You get what you pay for.
On the day shooting, bet it sounded like a Jeff Foxworthy show. Hey, hold my beer while a load this thang up.
