Yeah, it had a factory "Italian" upgrade with a 950 gram bolt that slowed it to about 900 rpm.
fits better here
FKNA it was a GREAT day.
Today was the day to shoot my step-father's Remington 30.06 700 series bolt action. First two shots of my life from any gun.
He's letting me borrow both this season.
8 miles north of my house is the boundary line deciding if you can use a rifle.
50 yards w/ 150 grain Winchester bullets. Surprised by amount of recoil. I felt very comfortable and safe.
Guys I shot with were knowledgeable and assisted me. Going again next weekend.
Moved back to 100 yards and did well. But don't have target pic.
Sorry for pic size and possible vocabulary errors. Still a Jong @ both.
Going deer hunting in Manistee National Forest with friends and their fathers and uncles in a couple of weeks.
I have been interested in hunting for years, but for some reason my father would never take me.
He has since passed away.
It's ironic, he stopped when I was 5, and now my oldest is 5 and I want to be able to share with him (and his younger brother)
in a few years the opportunity and let them decide if it's something they want to pursue.
I also shot the 12 gauge slug-barreled shot gun with glow sights. Not comfortable without scope outside 50 yards.
Very fun!
I love light triggers on certain rifles, but why would anybody want a 3lb trigger on an AK?
I probably wouldn't want a light trigger, but i would definitely want a shorter pull if it were my gun.
I let my buddy know about Red Star. Thanks for the heads up!
The killer awoke before dawn.
He put his boots on.
guns+pumpkins=fun
No pics. just wanted to be on the gun stoke thread.
Best day shooting. A pair of matched 15 shot semi-auto 22 pistols shooting double handed. No sighting in just walking rounds in from both hands. I got surprisingly accurate after a few tries.
We did have some guns that made bigger bangs. But having the pair was killer.
Love to shoot at night too. That is some serious fun to watch the flame.

In honor of the election, I'm planning on applying for conceal & carry in MN. I just want to be on "the list".![]()
Any reviews on the Walther P22? That'll be #1 in line, followed by a gov't Colt 1911 .45.
P-22's are hit and miss. Some work, many don't. I really don't think I would want a .22 as a concealed carry piece. lots of better choices for the same money. The new Ruger LCP, Keltec's, small frame 9mm Glock (and I hate Glocks)etc. Bigger caliber, better stopping power.
Now, with that said, it's hard to beat a .45. But you need to realize that a 1911 is not the most concealable piece and its a big, heavy chunk of metal. Limited round capacity. And, on top of that, to be effective you have to carry it "cocked and locked". Meaning you typically carry the weapon with the hammer in the cocked position and the safety on. You have to be very familiar with the operation of the weapon to use it, i.e. remember to take off the safety. As much as I love the ones I have, they don't make it into the concealed carry arena very much. Again, lots better choices of a .45 if that's your thing. If you're going to carry a 1911, you had better plan on running a bunch of rounds through it to get comfortable. And if you're set on Colt, plan on sending it back for a tune-up to get it to function reliably.
If your looking for something fairly small but still good power and a good carry piece maybe look at a Sig 229?? I had one a loved it.
I'm not applying for the permit to actually be able to carry. I'm just doing before the politics hit and laws start to be challenged/repealed. I'm more or less just making a statement and planning on doing it before the next administration is in place.
The .22 will actually be a usable piece - plinking and so on, whereas the .45 is more of a nostalgia thing. I carried one quite a bit in the military. They are more effective as a "thrown weapon" than as an accurate target piece. It's kinda between that, a Beretta 92FS, and a Glock 22. We'll see. I'm just in the looking stage right now.
I had a 9mm S&W (forget the model now) a few years back that was okay, but at the time I owned it, I was not comfortable having it around with roommates and so on, so I sold it - and bought some skis!
Election day shopping is fun...

Yeah, most folks are sold out of AR's right now, receivers and complete guns. Mags are gone too. Local ammo dealer said they had never had such sales. Personally, I've got to get some Title 2 guns home and a can before January, and build a couple of AR's and AK's.

Kimber Custom
One of the sweetest shooting pistols I've ever squeezed. For me just an accurate natural extension.

"Slid into the cave where Rocky was waiting with the bong and the snowlerblades"
Did you buy it at a gun shop, or was it a private sale and transfer? Ever post pictures of it online?
There's a reason I havn't posted pics of my gun quiver.
Love Kimbers, except for the fact that they say "Yonkers, NY" on the side. Kind of ironic.
I've never shot a kimber handgun I didn't love and may get one since they fit my big hands like a glove. But when it comes to their hunting rifles I've heard lots of horror stories about quality control. Some people love the rifles and other people have had the rifling totally screwed, mistapped scope mounts and barrels set off center. Have you ever heard those stories about the handguns?
